Chris Addison and Ed Byrne are Labour spokesmen and Jack Whitehall I'm certainly not a fan of. The jury's still out on Miles Jupp, he was pretty good on the comedy roaRABhow last Saturday though!
I agree, Russell Howard can be funny but at other times there is too much "Wouldn't it be funny if David Cameron went to work on the back of a camel" zany nonsense
Loved Dara's big head bit. It was nice to have a bit of banter that had nothing to do with the rest of the show.
Really liked it when following Dara's disappointment at lack of sympathy, Ed Byrne asked why he would share that with a bunch of comedians. Dara said something along the lines of 'I don't consider you a bunch of comedians'.
I wish he'd take Andy with him. There'd be more room in the show for jokes if he didn't spend 20 minutes getting a sentence out.
Five regulars (inc. Dara) was always too much imo. I like the variety since Frankie left. I haven't missed him since he stopped being funny in favour of being pointlessly insulting anyway, and while I like Russell it'll be interesting to mix things up a bit more.
I quite enjoyed that, but no Ed Byrne on the stand-up round? They really need to sort it out about only 3 going up for it.
I also liked Andy Parsons on unlikely letters to TV stations :"Dear Points of View - Who do I complain to when Points of View is shit!"
My reply: "Well, you could always make your own critical video and put it on Youtube and the BBC will remove it quicker than you can sing - Deutschland, Deutschland, Uber Alles!"
On the last episode Dara said they filmed it on the Tuesday and broadcast it on the Thursday which caused complications for discussing the World Cup and Budget.
Didnt that used to be a topical satirical comedy show ?
Not even interesting anymore ...no sparkle no chemistry no humour......
just like 7 people in a pub after a week long session trying to think of something funny to say....but sat in the corner while the rest of the pub is really buzzin and roaring with laughter.
I am still at a loss to understand why the spectacularly unfunny Chris Addison pops up so regularly on this programme.
His latest contribution was dire. Getting to spout lines as an actor on The Thick of It, written by the incomparable Armando Iannucci, does not make him a political pundit. His role has gone to his head and he obviously cannot now differentiate fact from fiction.
Frankie Boyle in his column today made a very similar joke to one Andy Parsons made on this week's show.
Something like this: "The police digging up Peter Tobin's garden could have saved themselves a lot of work by telling Tony Robinson they'd found a Saxon dildo."
