Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

Mock the Week hasn't as good but it has had its moment, it's good that they are getting new comedians in but they've been a mixed bag. Ed Bryne would be good as a pernament panelist and he and Dara bounce off each other, David Mitchell is good but I imagine he's quite busy with other shows to do 12 weeks of MTW.

I don't think Adam Hills will be appearing this series as he's just had a baby and usually the international comedians either live here or are getting ready for Edinburgh.

Andy Parsons has improved dramatically over the past couple of series, Hugh Dennis keeps churning out the good jokes and Dara O'Briain is an excellent host. As for the others, Chris Addison is bearable, the other three said about one decent joke between them.

Keep Andy and Hugh, Ed Byrne should be permanent, Milton Jones and Stewart Francis should alternate weekly/ when available, possibly bring in David Mitchell and have a recurring slot, wouldn't mind seeing that Miles bloke again, impressed with him.

why on earth is Chris Addison back on?

The only thing worse than this would be if Patrick Kielty or Gina Yashere was on.

Im hoping David Mitchell or Rhod Gilbert appear this series

Ian is the only reason I watch MTW these days.Paul's act is rather tedious now.
MTW actually had a good mix of current acts last night.
But I still only watch it because Andy Parsons is a true talent.

PS sorry if there's an add on my post. F*off RAB.

Too many leftie comedians on MTW. Don't get me wrong, many of them are funny, but perhaps they are all in a comfort zone? Russell Kane, Russell Howard, Andy Parsons, Hugh Dennis, all middle class liberal sorts, perhaps they need a few different personalities to mix things up? Marcus Brigstocke can be funny (in fact he does the "outraged, Daily Mail-hating act to perfection, even if I don't agree with everything he says), but a few different guests might help, rather than constantly inviting people whose biggest laugh is "let's all laugh at the Daily Mail".

Obviously the producers or editors or whoever should be sorting this out but i'm wondering if Dara could do a bit more as a chairman.

You hear him sometimes "passing the focus" to a panelist (it happened in the last ep when he brough Parsons in to let him tell a joke).
Maybe he should do it more often to get a better balance between the regulars and the guests who often seem to struggle and i'm guessing one of the main reasons they do struggle is that the regulars know the ropes and where to butt in etc.

Hello:)

I loved it.

Dara's natural charisma really upped the general quality of the show.

As a viewer, I was fantastic.

I laughed in all the right places.

Milton Jones was the only one that actually made me laugh out loud, felt the rest of the show was pretty weak. Dara usually makes me laugh too but he didn't particularly say anything funny last night!

Russell Howard is tip toeing along the dividing line between being fairly funny (he's no comedic genius) and being a smug shortarse tosser.

Time to shine for Donnelly. He's got no baggage so could do himself some good with a decent appearance.

Overall I hope they all do well and contribute otherwise it'll be another dire episode.
