Check out the fanbase. All love and little hate. You think people would dislike his guts a little more.
Agreed, it can go into another of explanations. However, I decided to focus on Gender Theory, and what questions that could be asked from this line of inquiry.
Naturally it would be silly to assume the whole hate of Nena is just because she's a girl. But to say this is a non-factor within the impact of the event is ignoring how the viewer might react to such an event.
It poses a question: Would people be just as shocked if one of the Trinity brothers instead of Nena?
Perhaps the show simply didn't display these tragedy in such an event to cause shock in the viewers.
Then again, it might be the fact I've witness witnessed the fictional horrors of the Draka, the destruction of Alderdran, the near extinction of humanity (several times), the heat death of the universe, Manos: the HanRAB of Fate, the various Man-Machine wars, the Anu rebellion, the horrors of the Hondo dictatorship, the Algernon incidents, fanfiction, the decline and fall of the Galactic Empire, Man-bug wars, the destruction of the 13 Colonies and subsequent exodus, wars against demons, the horrors unleashed by Naraku, asimlimation by various evil entities, the various cosmic horrors (and there are far worse than Cthulhu), The Wicker Man remake, Let's Play Phantasmogoria 2, the Bloddy Valentine and Break the World incidents, the One Year War, the Helot revolt, the destruction brought upon by Morgoth, the tragedy of the elves, and the Bride's own wedding massacre just to name a few.
After all that, a wedding massacre seems pretty tame in comparison. At this point, I only retain my sanity through snarky comments.
But not too seriously. This is fictional after all, and sometimes one neeRAB to be reminded of this.
Other than that you're supposed to be entertained?
Alright, I agree with that point.
