Mississippi pop culture?

From what I know about Mississippi, you're not going to have much luck in any of those departments. Even the "urban" parts aren't much as far as culture goes, because the cities are like more country than they are urban.
 
I'm moving to Hattiesburg Mississippi this summer so ive been doing alot of research. I'm getting the feeling where the place is going to be lacking pop culture. I searched for skate shops and i found none. Over on the west side, skating i can say is very popular. But in mississippi, there is like zero skate influences. So this is my question to the hip people of mississippi, are there skaters at all? any shoe collectors? And what brands are popular over there because that says alot.
I meant skateboarding btw*
 
Man, your moving to the wrong state. If you didn't know, Mississippi is really country.
