Mike Judge rumored to be working on 30 new episodes of 'Beavis & Butt-head'

Hopefully they'll use the old school disclaimer that went: "Beavis and Butthead are not real. They are stupid cartoon people created by this Texas person we hardly even know. Beavis and Butthead are crude, thoughtless, sexist idiots. But for some reason, the little weinerheads make us laugh".

Well then a BIG "thank you" goes to MTV for giving me a reason to acknowledge its presence again. This probably won't recapture the magic of the episodes from the 90s, but I'll definitely be giving this one a shot.

Can't wait to see Beavis and Butthead make its triumphant return and then promptly get moved to some graveyard slot three weeks later, like every other animated show on MTV.

Shoulda gone with Comedy Central

You might be on something, imagine what if Beavis and Butthead returned on Comedy Central? It so tempting to dust-off MTV's Downtown, Undergrads and Clone High as well for an animated comedy block :D

I think The Jetsons may trump them in that department.

I was not a Beavis & Butthead fan when it was on the air but I did become a big fan of everything else Mike Judge did afterwards. I'd really like to see what they come up with here. It seems to have been a while since MTV had an original animated series (Especially shows worth looking forward to. Still trying to drown out memories of Friday and that Dogs show), so if this got them to take a chance on more, I'd be all for that.

Hopefully it airs on MTV2. At least then I won't have to sit through (as many) Jersey Shore commercials while watching it. And it'll have less chance of getting buried under the garbage heap of "reality" shows on MTV. Besides I can't really imagine this airing next to episodes of stuff like The Hills. I just can't imagine kids who enjoy watching beautiful people in coastal cities would relate much to minimalist-animated show about a couple of ugly losers in dingy town in Middle-America.

Unless we have Beavis & Butthead making fun of music videos again, I doubt the revival will last.

Beavis & Butthead worked back then due to the edginess of MTV and the fact that cartoons were starting to break from traditional boundaries set on them. However, edgy cartoons are nowadays a dime a dozen so B & B wouldn't really stand out unless you take nostalgia into account.

Honestly, the music video reviews were and still are the most entertaining part of the show. To not have B & B do their typical riffing on today's artists would not be what made that show truly what it was.

You'll be pleased to know, that's exactly what they will be doing, at least according to the radio report I heard. (The reporter mentioned specifically that they would be reviewing videos from Lady Gaga for one.)

I'm really excited for this, the fact that Mike Judge's camp had no comments at the moment pretty much confirms that this is happening otherwise they would have straight out denied it.
