Mike Judge rumored to be working on 30 new episodes of 'Beavis & Butt-head'

I agree. I'd prefer that they stay teenagers myself.

I believe the last time Mike Judge actually did anything with Beavis and Butt-head that involved providing their voices was back in 2005, when there were those promos for the MTV music awards that year, and the infomercial with Billy Dee Williams promoting the first Beavis and Butt-head: The Mike Judge Collection DVD set. They were just a tad different from back in the day, but still acceptable nevertheless.

A thought that just dawned on me is that since the article didn't mention anything about them discussing videos, they probably won't be doing that anymore in this new version. For all we know, the episodes could just be full 30-minute episodes as opposed to the 10-15 minute shorts from back in the day.

Guys, we've heard rumors of new Beavis and Butt-Head ever since the shows cancellation. It's been more than a decade now. The show is dead.

I wouldn't want to see it revived anyway. I don't see how it could possibly live up to the original series.

I kind of hope it's not true, as it seems somewhat of a step back from what he's done since the show went on the air way back when.

It could never live up to the original episodes in most fans' minds, anyway.

I don't see why it couldn't. It's not like Beavis and Butthead is a hard show to pull off. Just have two moronic teenagers do stupid things and misconstrue everything people say in sexual ways.

Huh huh. I said "hard."

I wasn't aware of that, but the article posted as well as another article I've seen do look rather legit.

I saw that.

I remember this TV Funhouse short from Saturday Night Live where it showed college students asking Colin Powell questions, and then Beavis and Butt-head also make an appearance in it. I can't seem to find it anywhere though.

Awesome news! :D

On a related note, are the three DVD volumes worth picking up? They're as low as $10 now on Amazon, but I've heard there are edits and alterations and such. I know many of the music video sequences had to be removed because of rights issues, but are they still worth getting even with whatever other changes there are?

Ignoring the series finale shouldn't be too hard; B&B were never tight on continuity, anyway. I mean, Daria was there even after she got her own spinoff and moved away.

No, MTV did not confirm anything. "sources" at MTV confirmed it. I wrote an article already but am unsure if I should post it since we don't post rumors, and we don't know who these "sources" are.

I already posted a thread about this in the General Animation Discussion forum, it's been there for over a week.

This is pretty big news, does this make Beavis & Butt-head the first animated series with the longest lag time between old and new episodes to get revived?

The last ones aired in 97, it's been 13 years wow!
