Hello.
My first post here, please be patient with me.
I'd like to change phones from a Sony Ericsson Z525A to a Nokia E 62, and thanks to Cingular's draconian policies, it looks as though I'll have to do it without their assistance. (I need to wait another 6 months according to Cingular before I'm eligible to change out my phone, otherwise they'll charge me $450 for the Nokia E 62, even when Nokia itself sells the phone for $309 retail/no plan ).
I was considering going through Nokiausa.com or ebay for the phone, when a friend pointed out that unless I had the appropriate Cingular settings and plan, I probably wouldn't be able to use the advanced features of the Nokia anyway. And Cingular definitely won't help me configure a phone I didn't purchase directly from them.
Currently I have the MEDIA BASIC BUNDLE, and text message and surf the web (painfully) with my Samsung, but I don't want to assume this will work automatically if I put my SIM card into another phone.
Does anyone have suggestions? information? guidance? I'd hate to spend $310+ on a phone only to find all I can do is make and receive calls.
