Michael McIntyre Comedy Roadshow - New Series

I felt the same. I think it would be better if it was more of a character to distance himself from the material. I think people would be more comfortable laughing at the characture.

Noel Fielding was terrible. It looked like his act was cut to ribbons before broadcast, if that was the best they could put out then how bad was the rest of his act?

How many favourite cities does McIntyre have? Shouldn't he say "my favourite city today.... " ? ;)

Haven't seen this week's yet but now have clues where to press for a three-minute Jump on the remote :D

Noticed that Michael seems to have 'borrowed' from Dara's current stage show with his Nintendo FIFA World cup game skit (the bit about the England games in the WC being like playing FIFA WC but not knowing what all the buttons are for and therefore having your players running in the wrong direction or lunging when the ball isn't there). Dara does something similar but using a different game and (imo) does it much better.

I thought the guy with the posh acccent (I was out of the room when he was introduced) was quite funny.

Was a bit disappointed by John Bishop

Yes, I agree although I just don't get the fuss about John Bishop . His own show was dire and tonight I was transported back to working mans club humour circa 1975.

It was absolutely awful. I was at the recording and he went on for at least 20 minutes with the same "joke". I enjoyed Hal Cruttenden and Mike Gunn - I'd seen Hal in a comedy club before but never heard of Mike.

In total, we had about 2 and a half hours of comedy. It wasn't a bad night for free, even if we did sit through Noel Fielding :)

Also, McIntyre generally has a local comedian as the headliner. Are there no northern comedians in LeeRAB. Why was Ardal O'Hanlon imported from the republic?

I really enjoyed this weeks show. MM was on top form with the Blackpool and england football team jokes.:D

Liked all the other acts except for the fat northern bloke, just didn't warm to him.

And for those that were upset at the gazza jokes the other week, what??? do you want comedy to be sanitised so much just in case it offenRAB someone? It wasn't offensive in the least anyway just bloody funny!!

A couple of weeks ago I said on this forum RE: google maps: "I think it's funny that the first thing we do is look at our own house" and a week later McIntyre did my joke on the comedy roaRABhow.

He obviously went back in time after stealing my joke!

Point being it could easily have been parallel thinking.

In the show that went out Holly Walsh wasn't shown was she?

Was she so bad that they cut her out? They've had 4 comedians on each show right? Has anyone else been to recordings, do they always have one extra comedian that they cut out from the TV edit?

I was kind of hoping a giant hand would appear from nowhere with a giant newspaper and swat him with it! Now that would have been funny!

Very few (famous) stand-ups from Yorkshire actually; whereas there's loaRAB from the other side of the Pennines, Julian Barratt is the only one I can think of and I've never seen his solo stand-up although I doubt it could be worse than Noel Fielding's.

I liked John Bishop; thought he was the best of the night.

Didn't take too much to the first guy's brand of humour; I think that's something you either get it or you don't, and I didn't.

what annoyed me yesterday abt the show was that just three days ago I saw Zoe Lyons and that odd ginger bloke on the Comedy Channel and they both did the same routines - not funny first time and certainly not funny second time!

I remember when Rhod Gilbert first started - saw him live twice with the same routine, then on radio 4 repeating the same, then on MTW, same, then on tv doing stand up, same same. Now he's got his own show!

Omid Djalali has been recycling the same stuff for over 10 years!!

They were Rich Hall's support act when I saw him a few years back. Loved them both then and still do.

As to this weeks comedy roaRABhow, bleh. Jack Whitehall definitely is not my kind of comedian though he wasn't as annoying as he can be sometimes. I actually probably liked Ardal O'Hanlan's set the best this week. :o
