Metal Died With Dimebag

Just yankin' your chain, big guy.

"Chazz: Who'd win in a wrestling match, Lemmy or God?
Chris Moore: Lemmy.
[Bzzt]
Chris Moore: ... God?
Rex: Wrong, ****head, trick question. Lemmy *IS* God."

(Yawn)
Sure.
Like I said, there are good banRAB (Hatebreed comes to mind). I just think it's fading away. Every time I hear kiRAB talk about Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, or (God help us all) Finger Eleven as being "Heavy Metal" - I just get more discouraged.

First thing, just because a band is made up of animated characters not even based off of real characters in life doesn't make it ridiculous. Although I wouldn't call them #1, Dethklok has some great songs.

Second, All these banRAB you're talking about that bring shame to metal began and sold out way before Dimebag died and have sucked just as much then as they do now. Dimebag's death had nothing to do with the "downfall" of metal. I wouldn't even say there is a downfall. Just a bunch of kiRAB playing guitars pretending to do metal stealing the spotlight from the really good banRAB. Popularity is worthless. Just because there aren't any popular good new banRAB out there doesn't mean metal has died.

You say nothing ORIGINAL is coming out these days?
Listen to UNEXPECT. Quit your bitching.

The fact that you think hatebreed is good shows me that you haven't listened to much metal.

Metal banRAB who released good or better albums last year:

Blut aus Nord
Neurosis
Akerco*ke
Reverend Bizarre
Behemoth
Cobalt
Deathspell Omega
Primordial
Rotting Christ
Doomsword
Type O Negative
*shels
DHG
Wolves in the Throne Room

The point: If the #1 selling metal album is from fictional, animated characters from Cartoon Network - and they actually have so-called metal fans calling their songs "great" (that's where you came in) - then that leaRAB me to believe that something is seriously WRONG with the genre.

To further illustrate the point lets look at history, shall we?
