McCain just sealed my vote

You may be wondering, how will we have electricity at night or during cloudy weather?
Will we use large banks of batteries or burn candles?

The ability to utilize solar thermal technology after the sun sets is made possible by a storage system that is up to 93% efficient, according to Ausra’s executive vice president John O’Donnell.

High efficiency is achieved because solar thermal plants do not need to convert energy to another form in order to store it and do not rely on battery technology. Flat moving recflectors or parabolic mirrors focus solar energy to generate heat. This heat generates steam that turns turbines, thus generating an electric current.

If you want to generate electricity-at, say, 3 am-heat from the sun can be stored for later use. This gives solar thermal technology the ability to not just produce peak power, but also generate base load electricity.

In case you didn't know how solar plants worked.

Your other claims there are fairly baseless as well. And I wouldn't characterize it as a 'hissy fit' when I call you out on making up bullshit to support your claims.

Conflicts can be solved by diplomacy, something that the Clinton did well. During the Clinton administration, the country was on its best shape. Then, Bush was elected and along with your supported method of dealing with everything, put the country in a state of recession.

It's true. When you look at price, yield, reliability, cleanliness, and efficiency - it is the best.

Personally next time I hope you go to the hospital it's one that relies on solar energy. And I hope it's a cloudy day.

"We'll just build enough batteries to store energy for the entire country for hours on end if a huge swath of the US happens to get covered by clouds"

Obama was asked specifically about nuclear energy in front of the entire nation by a guy who said he didn't want to hear about wind and solar. He wanted a clear answer on Obama's plan to implement nuclear energy.

Obama's response was "nuclear energy shouldn't be taken off the table" followed by 3 paragraphs on wind and solar.
