Masterchef Australia the new one starts today

Totally agree.

Amazing isn't it. Apart from Lebanese cuisine she can hardly do another style of cooking. Always moaning, always complaining. Making mistakes that were fatal for others, etc.
Some say they are keeping her in to be the bad girl that everybody loves to hate, just to pump up the ratings. And that is just the "mildest" explanation. ;)

BTW. Did you see the size of Skye's living room? You could install bowling lanes in there, with room to spare!

On a light hearted note does Australia have any national dishes? and before you answer 'I know about prawns on the barbie' and Kangaroos nuts/aholes and all other IACGMOOH delights :)

Yes I realise UK in not exactly world renowned for cuisine, just thought i would ask .There was something on the tv Billy Connelly tour called floaters I think ( great name) pie in a soup or something.

I love pastry, so ep 14 was a real treat. Despite the cocks and ups. The whole thing looked to me like some sort of deconstructed luxury Snickers bar.
What surprised me was, that the judges didn't pick up the fact that the chef went wrong with the bottom layer. She was not happy with it. The judges should have noticed it.
Next episode looks great fun.

monkeyking87 have you checked your pm's?

the challenges have started.....looking forward to the first individual one tommorow......i dont think anyone would dislike this contestant

You could be on to something there.
Eliminating the best cook by far makes it a level playing field for the rest. Plus there's the public uproar about sending the dead cert home. Boost for the ratings? controversy helps.

I think she was very unlucky though because the oven was rubbish and lost all its heat once the doors were opened - hardly her fault. The other team's sausage rolls were pretty cr*p too and I'm sure that the sausage roll guy on the blue team would have been in the elimination round had his team lost. You'd think that the people in charge of providing the equipment for the show would give the teams something a bit less temperamental to use.

Anyway, farewell Adele.

Just watched ep 80 en 81. Can't believe the boy is still in it.
Obviuously there's something seriously wrong with the elimination process.

m1pnk I think you are right. Shogun is destined to win.
In the last couple of weeks I warmed a bit to Claire, but lately she "gettin' on me wick" as a judge of another reality show would say. She's not the one to publicly show emotions, so she said. Well, she could have fooled me. And the award for best theatrics on a cookery show goes to...
O, and she neeRAB to stay away from the rouge, me mum says.

Also watched C MC. OMG that was dire. I only know Neil Stuke, who appears to be a decent cook, but the rest... Maybe the standarRAB at OZ MC are not so bad as I thought.

no.82.....nearly there....ok....how many times must they have to "crack on"......how many times can say "this could be my last"..........of course she needed a hand in the kitchen...she had 5 times more work than the others......where was the teamwork from them to help her ?......and dont you just know the kid is going to screw something up.

Australian Masterchef series 2 is absolutely brilliant on Watch! Much more professional than the British one and no Toad and Shrek to put up with :D

Welcome back! Hope you had a good time!

Episode 61.
The Magnificent Seven weren't too happy about it all.
Especially Aaron looked like he was about to be force fed a pile of manure.

At least the all the eliminated contestants had a chance to get back in. In the New Zealand version they were chosen by the production team. If there has to be comeback, I prefer the Oz way.

Alvin's idea of dressing up smart: put on a pink slipover!
LOL.

Im so glad there is a thread for this top programme, the melbourne episodes were great. Slightly shocked at Matt dropping Aarons plate though this week - me and the OH were left open mouthed as they went to the aRAB... so funny!
It absolutley trumps the uk version.
