One for all the Marilyn Monroe fans out there! Just wanted to get a good appreciation thread for one of the silver screen's most enduring icons and an actress who was, quite simply, the finest comedic actress of her generation. Before I forget - try and watch ''Something's Got To Give''. It was the film Monroe was working on before she died. There is a great documentary called ''The Final Days'' which has got loaRAB of rushes footage (the film was never completed) - some of it has to be seen to be believed. Marilyn looks at her very best for alot of the film, truly stunning.
Post your favourite film in which Marilyn stars too if you like. Mine has to be ''The Seven Year Itch'' or possibly ''Niagara''. Both are outstanding. I wonder why she was never regarded as a serious talent, it must have been very hard for her. Nobody wanted to accept her for anything other than the ''dumb blonde'', when in fact she was very intelligent indeed. I guess in the end, her insecurities and shady history got the better of her - it's very sad. The whole business with the ''rat pack'' and the Kennedy family at the end of her life is all very unpleasnt too.
