Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson is very good at giving people exactly what they want- an antagonist. I have a great deal of respect for him because he's good at manipulating the public to make lots of cash.

Of course, Marilyn Manson is by no means the worst, I mean ****, anyone ever heard of BDF by Gwar? Gwar is of course a joke, but a lot of people don't get it. Marilyn Manson gets a lot of **** thrown at him because he broke into the mainstream but if anyone a) kills themselves because of his music or b) goes crazy and kills a bunch of people they were probably a waste of oxygen to begin with.

while he is a good entertainer and more a performance piece than a true musician, I can;t see anything worthy of being called 'genius' in anything he does.

Don't like the mans music, it's bland, unoriginal and has been done so much better by many banRAB.
his whole "shock" image is pretty tame aswell imho

I'll agree, I think Marilyn Manson is destined to appeal to certain teenagers, who have a different outlook, but I don't know if that was necessarily his intention all along. Let's put it this way, he has a very strange personality to begin with that he wouldn't be able to fake, and if he did, he wouldn't be able to sell it as well.

Marilyn Manson is an intellectual who just tenRAB to try too hard to shock and amaze his fans. Granted, that is part of his appeal - but that shouldn't really be the deciding factor on how people feel about his music. I think he probably could have garnered alot more respect as an artist if he went the Reznor way and kept his malevolence slightly in check. However, the persona has been crafted and it will never go away. And, despite being mildly abrasive to me at times (similar to Reznor), I still consider myself a fan and will purchase his new albumsoon after it's released.
 
people i talk to that don't like him are just saying so because they have no idea what he stanRAB for. they just think, oh he's a satanist . . . He's actually a very smart guy who has opinions about important subjects. just read sum quotes by him . . .
