I think America is the only one who calls Jam Jelly, and Jelly Jello.

I love peanut butter and jam together.

I'm all out of maple syrup so I had to have strawberry jam on my pancakes the other day. :pout:

I like Krusteaz pancake mix.

I'm gonna have pancakes for breakfast but I'm all out of maple syrup. :irked: So I guess I will have them with strawberry jam again.

Only the real stuff for me, and get some good maple spread too. Always good on bread in the morning ;)

I think that you mean Jello--that's what American's call it but I know that folks in Europe refer to it as jelly.

When we call jelly is similar to what you would call jam. :)

And, yeah, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches are brilliant. Grape jelly is the best!

Jelly is generally made with pectin, and pectin is a fruit product so it's vegetarian.

But Jello is a different thing altogether--it's made of beef hides and hooves. Yuck.

I'm a vegetarian, too, so I'm careful to know what I'm eating.

............and now that I'm on this thread I'm thinking about the maple syrup that I've got in the kitchen. It's pancakes and maple syrup for breakfast! :D

I just went to a Maple Syrup festival close to where I live yesterday. It was a blast. They serve food. Pancakes and waffles of course, but they also have maple syrup chicken and pork chops. They sell all kinds of maple syrup stuff, like candy and cream and even spun maple syrup which is like cotton candy only better. It was a blast and my parents and I may go back next weekend with some friends, depending on the weather.

I have finally had maple syrup.

There is this coffee shop that I now frequent instead of Starbucks that makes some great deserts and one of them is their waffles which they serve with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and fruit (strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi) on the side. I don't have a picture of it but maybe next time. If only we have a waffle machine here. I discovered the cafe by accident since I thought it was a small mom and pop store and just wanted to get a quick, cheap bite.

Kind of missed the waffle/syrup combination. It was long overdue.

Anywho, here are the pics of said cafe. Usually frequented by Koreans and run by Koreans (they are pretty animated in conversations even if I don't know what they're saying), the place is cozy and more mellow. And couches!

Sorry for the enthusiasm. But they do serve waffles with complimentary syrup. And not only at breakfast time.

hmm sour cream, jam & maple syrup together, sounds odd but who knows? It can be good just like peanut butter & maple syrup sounds weird to Eric.

I like both real and store sold pancake syrup. I most often eat the store sold syrup because of price. Real maple syrup is expensive....I LOVE maple sugar candy though

everytime i'm at Eric's i have waffles with peanut butter & maple syrup :D :D

ohhh maple spread.....i never tried them Eric.
