Making a piano MIDI file?

I need a program to make midi files for a reader I downloaded. I don't have a key board. I need to make the files for a reader I have to help me with certain rhythms and I was trying to find a program like tux guitar where you can select different notes individually. I've tried sibelius, but it was too confusing.
