Main Event Ability, No Credibility? (SPOILER ALERT)?

With Jack Swagger stealing the belt from Chris Jericho in the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday, this has led me to weird question.

Why is WWE forcing their green talent into such situations that are destined to fail? Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Jack Swagger, CM Punk, Sheamus... great in-ring talents, great on the mic... great future... but all of them are getting pushes that they really shouldn't be getting. Let's look at them in order, shall we?

CM Punk - WWE Debut: 2006 - Great easy push up in ECW for a year and three months, but after his pull to Raw, he was quickly given a meteoric push. No explanation for it, either. Suddenly he wins MITB, and without too much of him flaunting it, suddenly takes the championship... then instead of actually letting him have a run with the title, they give him a defense against JBL (meaning they weren't willing to job their big guns to him to help his push) and then basically strip him of the title and never let him even complain. After which, he didn't see a main event again until he won the MITB a second time. This time he took the belt AGAIN, only to be beaten a month later by Jeff Hardy, then wobble with the title, and lose it to Undertaker (without giving him true credibility with the belt by not having him defend it at all to anyone but Undertaker). Now he's floundering in the upper-card, a great talent with no way of truly breaking the glass ceiling.

Sheamus - WWE Debut: 2009 - Not only was his push in ECW short... he suddenly goes from squashing jobbers in ECW to squashing jobbers in Raw, and then suddenly he's champ? Not to mention the only defense he truly earned was against, you guessed it, a jobber!? Everyone else wouldn't job to him fairly, killing the credibility of his championship reign, and then he lost it unceremoniously to Cena, only to have Cena lose to Batista... furthering Sheamus' downfall, and hammering it home that he's isn't worth the big guns' time. The fans can't even get into him enough to care! Fluke win over Cena. Intentional DQ in Cena's rematch. Fluke DQ over Orton. Loses the belt with no way of defending it, and only pinning someone who didn't matter in the match anyway... then losing to Triple H in a microwave feud? *sigh*

Jack Swagger - WWE Debut: 2008 - Swagger was given a huge push when entering ECW. He won the ECW championship after a huge win-streak over established ECW guys, which made his ECW title run credible. But when sent to Raw, suddenly WWE gave up on him, leaving him as a mid-card nobody amongst players who outranked him by a long shot... then Sheamus showed up and skyrocketed past him. Suddenly he wins MITB, and is now Champ!? No push beforehand at all, and suddenly we're supposed to accept that he's worth being the main event. I'm not sure this will be a good thing for his career at all...

What do you think about all these "top tier" wrestlers getting their pushes way too early in their careers? Do you think that this push for Swagger will do him good? Or do you think they'll force him to have lackluster matches, solely because the actual top-tier talent doesn't want to job to him (like Sheamus...)?
What? I'm saying that they're talented enough to be in the Main Event. Great mic skills and in-ring talent. But WWE's attempts to FORCE them into the main event with no build is killing their careers.

I love Swagger, but do you think his push will help him or hurt him in the long run? Punk and Sheamus both had huge pushes, and it ended up hurting them, because the "big guys" up in the main event won't let them have credibility.

Think of Triple H vs. Sheamus... Sheamus had a title run that had ZERO true defences in THREE MONTHS! Then Sheamus cuts a great promo on Triple H... Triple H then cuts him down, and makes him job in a very anti-climactic match at Wrestlemania... how much credibility does he actually have, now!?

What do you honestly think they'll do with Swagger? Do you really think that Rey, Edge, Undertaker, Kane, or even Morrison will give him the real time of day?

oh come on! swagger may not have great promo skills, but he's one brilliant wrestler, i'd rather see a good technical match than a drama match with the likes of cena involved
