...but it wasnt in order on BBC HD was it - i recorded ep 7 last night and now have to wait till next tuesday to see ep 6 - sort it out BBC!:mad:
 
I thought the same thing. For me it was because Peggy and her sister were talking about the child while the sister looked in on her children sleeping (I think in the episode where we first meet the young priest), so I thought one of them was Peggy's.
 
I think it's only the obsequious secretary guy who's been miscast (or mis-directed), the one in charge seemed fairly genuine ("there's no 'London Fog' ...") although it was a surprise that he wasn't at the summer party in ep #3.

Thank you so much dan-am. I had no point of reference for the whole John/Marsha exchange, but reading your post and watching it again I can only agree with you. Having this in context brought other bits of the episode into a sharper hue for me. The whole PR piece and Don's seeming disconnect with those around him.

There's me thinking I wouldn't even get a reply and you blow me away with a fantastic response.

Really much appreciated, I look forward to your posts over the rest of the series.
 
Loved the dramatic irony leading to JFK assassination.

Peggy saying no-one ever remembers getting a phone call (when they're struggling for ideas on the telegram account) when of course we know people are going to be getting calls telling them about JFK that they'll remember for ever.

Plus the big red stain the German au pair's dress.
 
There are many cast interviews on Youtube which are quite fun and worth a look if anyone hasn't seen them yet. No doubt most fans of the show have probably seen them already, but I was just browsing and came across several videos. I only discovered the show from the second season (got the dvd for the first).

There's the Jimmy Kimmel show in the US, which interviewed Jon Hamm, JJones and Christina Hendricks (who was quite nervous and also had to contend with co-guest Russel Brand).

There are also some excerpts from various award shows, such as the Golden Globes this year. This one was of the press interview afterwarRAB. 'Don' and 'Peggy' seem quite chummy in real life, and there was a fair bit of larking around from cast in the background.

I know a few who find Man Men incredbily overrated. Differences of opinion, isn't it great? :p

I find both Mad Men and Dexter very entertaining and exceptional within their own context. These two programs became appointment viewing for me which says a lot about the quality of the material.
 
Love this show, its one of the best things on television at the moment. Compelling scripts acting and I love the whole concept.

Also, how beautiful is Christina Hendricks?!
 
It was indeed stunning. John Hamm was superb and it's a testament to the writing, acting and direction that it's possible to empathise with Don Draper despite all the character's flaws.

And brilliant direction at the end with so little colour in the picture, shadows everywhere and the funeral about to start - resonating on so many levels. :cool:

I also loved Roger ringing Joan - again. How far can that go? They're both patently with the wrong partners ...
 
I forgot that git lucky strike guy was also behind Sal getting sacked. I wish he could come back.

Never seen anyone dance the conga either quite like Joan:D

Last night's episode was terrific - Betty is realising the reason she is so unhappy now, and deep down realises why Don is home so late, or not at all.
 
I think you may be confusing the BBC with ITV here. It's ITV that blew so much of its budget on football that it had to start axing other shows.
 
Possibly a superficial comment but how young did Pete look in his PJs in the last episode? He has always looked young but he looked about 10 years old when sitting looking at Don's photos.
