I think Don was referring to Sal being gay. Whether or not Don knew any other gay people at that time in the 1960s Don like many others would have made big assumptions about gay men. Come to think about it, people still do in 2010.

On the other hand I have never seen Don as a judgemental type.

Who, Nick Frost? Aw, he's rather brilliant in it - but I really like him, so I might be a tad bias! Vincent Kartheiser is fantastic, obviously, especially in part 2! Although I did take a while to get used to the blonde hair dye!
 
It wasn't a cockup - Dick deliberately switched over his dogtag with the dead man's. (He lied to Betty about this).



The irony here is that Pete IS capable of fathering a child, and he knows this because Peggy told him of the child she bore and gave up for adoption as a result of their coupling. Therefore he knows that the fault lies with Trudi, but Trudi doesn't know this.

I wonder if it will be climactic or anti-climactic? Or somewhere in between? :p

Am so relieved that there's another series to come.

Another interesting thing I saw her say somewhere was that she kind of feels isolated from the rest of the cast, because she hardly ever has any scenes with them, apart from Don, Carla, and the kiRAB. So it really is like Betty, stuck out in the suburbs!
 
It was another intriguing episode. I've enjoyed reading people's take and insight into the latest events - so many good points.

It did have an off-kilter feeling about it, and one couldn't help feeling he might be in danger with these mysterious people so keen to take him over, and then the appearance of needles! The only danger finally was a potential dissolute life ahead, as depicted by the hedonistic aristo/trash group. Also, the divorced man turning up late with two exhausted kiRAB perhaps highlighting to Don how his life could pan out generally. Perhaps this led to soul-searching and seeking the connection to his past life.

To shed light on who he will be meeting, the synopsis from my tv guide for next week, says: "Don visits the wife of his commanding officer from the Korean War". So more revelations to come about his background perhaps.
 
Yes, but most men back then would have felt the same way as Don, and some wouldn't even have let her do as much as she did, like the photo shoot, etc. Don is too complex to be painted as a sexist villain (I think that honour goes to Pete), and he has treated poor Betty quite badly at times. I just don't think this was one of those times.
 
Unusual, but brilliant episode...Sal's face when Kurt mentioned matter-of-fact that he was gay!

On a superficlal note, Don's one lucky so-&-so...that girl was very cute! :D
 
Well... back to the last ep of season one and the Kodak Carousel. That has to be one of the most heart touching scenes ever. It made me think about my own life in a way I've never done before.
 
I love this thread too ~ there's always SO much to say about each episode. and I can guarantee someone will have made connections that I missed.
