Lower street glide

I have a 2007 street glide with a leaking rear shock. I would like to replace the shocks and while I am at it lower the bike a bit. Does anyone have an idea

I just took a set of 11.5 inch progressive, 412's, off the wifes 09 Street Glide. They have about 500 miles on them. They were great for solo riding but we do a little 2 up (about 340 pds combined) on hers and could bottom out the shock on hard bumps. I think these are the lowest shocks progressive makes and they drop you down about a half inch in the back. The wife had the front lowered and that got her feet down on the ground.

If your interested in the 412's in the chrome finish I can send or post some pictures. The wife said about $150. shipped.

I was looking at the shocks online and I am not sure they have a strong enough spring in the 412 that maybe why you bottom out it looks like maybe I need one of the higher end ones but not sure.

We replaced the 412's with the new CVO shocks and it made all the difference. It did raise the rear of the bike back to the original height in the back but with the seat change and one inch lower front springs, the wife is still comfortable on the bike. The 412's are a good shock, even in the 11.5 inch version, for a average size person but you just plain lose too much travel with that short of shock for riding two up or hauling a lot of extra gear.
