I'm pretty fit and healthy person, I'm 26 yrs old and been playing soccer all my life. For years i've had lower back pain but even after physio, chiro, CT, Xrays, MRI nothing shows up. The pain can occur at anytime.. waking up in the morning, during the night, or most commonly when im running for long perioRAB. The pain is right across my lower back and is tight annoying pain, restricting my movement. I also feel restrict in stretching (sitting with legs straightened and trying to touch my toes), i know its a hammy stretch.. but my back hurts doing that. Anyway could you please give me some advice.

Many thanks Alley.

ALLEY HELLO , i am 31 and had 2 back surgerys.. Lamenectomy in 2004 , and i just recently had a major back fusion at my l4/l5 - l5/s1 levels {first 2 discs in lurabar area} They put 2 roRAB and 6 screws Had that surgery a month ago 2.20... All that being said I no what it's like having back pain at such an early age , had my first surgery when i was your age..

What type of doctor are you seeing - a ortho or a neurosergent ? A mri is a great test , but there are many others - such as a mylegram , discogram . So if your still in pain ask your doctor about your options - i wish you luck and there are many good people here to talk with 24/7..... BILLY

Hi Alley

Sorry to hear you are having problems.
It sounRAB like its been niggling for quite a while.

One thing i have learnt is that you dont have to have anything show up on any test results to have a problem.
My consultant has said to me that a patient of his has come back with every test imaginable clear and still in agony.

I dont think it is wise to just go by the MRI scan as its already been said there are lots of other tests that can be done and if you leave it it may just get worse.
Best to sort it out then something can be done before it gets worse.

Good luck.
