Lovefilm/C.A.R.S

Keep hold of the certificate of post and all correspondence emails between you and Lovefilm regarding the cancellation of their service.

If they confirmed you cancelled your subscription and you have the email they will not have a leg to stand on.

And if LF informed you, your subscription would only be cancelled once they received your last rentals, ask them why they failed to contact you when they did not receive them back.

I would also send all my correspondance emails between you and LF to the collection agency. Personally I would not pay them a penny as the error is clearly from them, also they fact that they failed to take money from your credit card confirms they were aware you cancelled.

I paid a couple of weeks ago when i received the letter. what i meant is that surely corresspondance from an internet company will be received by e-mail as it was when you were a member, i received this and don't understand people saying that nothing was sent to them. internet companies send things out in bulk (promos, info, newsletters) and therefore these e-mails will have been sent in bulk, i doubt they picked and chose the customers who got e-mails do you?

Hi I have sent CARS a letter (Recorded Delivery) and a copy by email to both the CEO of Lovefilm and Artsalliance a wekk ago and never heard a thing from any of them.

I have to say there seems to be a pattern to this, We (the users) cancel online and think thats the end of it but Lovefilm dont get back our last movie (strange how everyone keeps their last movie isint  ).

Then Lovefilm send out email asking for it back and somewhere somebody is sitting blocking all these emails so we never get them

And the last stage is CARS come in and write us letters that despite being marked urgent that they leave lying around their office for a week before sending them out.

I am now going to do as "The Lord Lucan" says and contact watchdog and see what they say and I think it cant do any harm for everyone else to do the same.

Only thing I am now getting concerned about is this threat that was made to put me on the bad debt register (if such a thing exists) and this will affect my credit rating in the future  how real a possibility is this ? and if this did happen would we be allowed to have it removed in the future?

"I have received your email today and having checked with our customer services for you I see that we have resolved the matter with you a week ago.Could you please confirm this is the case."

But when the woman called me she had been tryng to contact me for a week using the email address I had previously just told them I was unable to receive mail on, so I had no idea it had been sorted out.

can't remember all of them but they did get more aggressive as they went on with the last few advising me that it would be passed over to debt recovery if not paid, however, as i said i pretty much ignored them thinking they'd go away so can't blame anyone but myself really. I'll learn for the future that all threats aren't empty ones!!!

Until your account has closed fully you can always login to check the status of a cancellation, surely if you had canceled something online you would keep an eye on it to make sure it was cancelled??
