LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

It may come into it but i have had excellent service from them for months while being on the 4 DvRAB at a time package. The delaying tactcs are probably enforced as they cant cope with the number of subscribers due to over keen offers etc.

Having now cancelled (I hope) I will be going to Blockbuster. 5 day turnaround, which is what I am now up to, beggars belief. If you look at the independent review sites Lovefilm is always slated. Now I know why, although I was happy at Screenselect.

How legitimate is that award? I have never heard of them before. It would not surprise me if it was a lovefilm sponsored award.

I devise a new award voted by us the users.

I give my vote to Blockbuster.

The CEO's point has no point, when the service goes beyond 1 disc at a time. It's the same logic as NTL's 1Gb a day cap.The service becomes pointless by their own logic.

As for the weight issue. I once received 3 DVD's bundled together with a rubber band. I figured RM did this, so I started to do it. I now do this with my blockbuster DVD's too with no problems.

I know I manage about 9 a week on the 3 discs service

They must be moving in May 2009 as there is no Saturday 23rd May in 2005. Not only do lovefilm fail to deliver the kind of service they promise us even their employees have an inability to grasp the concepts of how to use a calendar.

Ever since the postal address has changed from Screenselect's London one, to Lovefilm's Peterborough one, I have noticed a far slower dvd turnaround. SS were normally pretty good and often send out a dvd the same day they received the old one - Lovefilm seem to wait overnight before sending out a dvd at the very minimum. I will give them a couple of months incase they are having merger teething problems, however if this slower service continues I will be taking my custom elsewhere.

Any Blockbuster users able to tell us how good their postal dvd service is?

Well folks it seems as though Lovefilm are doing yet more 3 for 1 offers. I have just received an email as i was on Webflixs database to say sign up and have 3 for 1.

Maybe i should, even though i am already a member. :)

Brace yourselves for more service level drops. :(

i posted on here a coupleof months ago singing screenselects praises!

how wrong i was.

recently the turnaround is very slow, im not getting my top choices or 2nd top. i keep getting the third- the ones im not really too bothered about

but worse of all . my next payment date was 19th oct, so i was going to cancel on the 18th oct. but when i tried it said if you cancel now and we don`t have the outstanding DVRAB by tommorrow we will charge you for an extra month. so im stuck with them. i have to cancel about 5 days before the next payment date so they recieve them in time, so they don`t charge me for another month.

i was fuming- and u can`t contact them! it just says go to the problem solver- which doesn`t solve any problems?!?!

which company is anyone recommending? tesco is now with screenselect, ive heard v. bad things about blockbuster

I assume that you would never see 8 discs from them a week. There's bound to be some 'holdup'.

Even if you could get 8 discs back after one or two days I cannot see them sending out replacements for about three days.

Max 8 films a week, 32 a month.

Strangely, 6 rentals a week was what I was expecting on the 3 disk "unlimited" package.

Obviously I rent far too much for LF to make a profit. They don't want me and "me sort" hense the throttling and the pathetic CS attitude towarRAB me.

I got 2 disks last week. Will be cancelling next week.

THe fact is that we all want something for nothing. We'll all move around to the best deals, swap the service, slag it off and move on.

Only honest and open companies with good Customer Service will survive. Sadly Lovefilm had neithe going for them

Love Film would have broken the data protection laws if what fadger claims is true. As there is no real evidence that they have done this it would be safer to remove the posts.

There could be a LF mole in these forums as we speak reporting all the posts they dislike.

We were tricked as we were promised an unlimited service which we did not get.

* If you were indeed 'tricked' why aren't any of the people you've all complained to about the service taking any action ?

How is it an act of cowardice criticising a poor company?

* Criticise yes, 'kick them when they're down' no - people only do that if they are cowarRAB.

I suppose if I defended them it would be considered brave in your view.

* No, not at all. I don't consider myself brave, and I defend them.

Exactly what we all want IS available in the current marketplace,

* Really? Which company does offer what you consider to be a truly unlimited service?

.. it's just that Lovefilm are not the one's who are providing it even though that is how they advertise themselves.

* Again, if they were exceeding what is considered to be the legal line on a promise of service the ASA and others would be all over the like a rash, and that ain't happening!

You may attempt to try and defend them but you certainly need more constructive arguments if you want people to take you seriously.

* Really? Just because you don't agree with what I'm saying doesn't mean my arguments aren't constructive.

For someone who has a so-called 'life' and dislikes this thread you sure do spend a lot of time on here.

* Well, you wanted a response, so I post one! How long someone spenRAB on a forum and having their say is not a problem for me, but people constantly whining like a little girl is just pathetic.

If you really think you're being hard done by, take them to court! Be a man about it, instead of using an internet forum to do it.

Clearly the powers that be in places like Trading StandarRAB, the ASA, Watchdog don't think you have a valid point otherwise they'd be getting involved.

P.S. Post the link to this perfect DVD mail order rental company because I'd like to know who they are. I'd love to experience perfection!

They are only worth using with some sort of offer like 3 months for the price of 1, even with this offer it is proving difficult to spot the good deal with a poultry 3 DVRAB a week.

As a proper service of 1 month paid, it is best to avoid them in future, plenty of better ones out there who look after their customers.

I really hate the new "improved" Lovefilm website. It takes forever to load now they have made it too pretty and visual. What was wrong with the old site?
