LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

You'll all notice that the option to cancel online has disappeared once again, replaced by a telephone number  I've had it, I have two accounts, neither of which will be renewed. I'm switching to Blockbuster.

they sent me a film id removed from my list weeks back, kinda pissed me off. im leaving now because im going on holiday, plus i have about 50 films recorded on Sky +
probably re-join near the end of the year when im through all my recorded films

Okay, but that's it ? You'll settle for that ? Not a very strong fight is it ?

Compare how many people will read this forum .. and this thread specifically .. to how many people are signed up with Lovefilm and it's a drop in the ocean .. if that ! Realistically, it's not really going to achieve a whole lot is it ? Looking at the big picture ..

If I, as a consumer, felt strongly enough about being shafted by a company (in my opinion), I would persue it as far as I could, through all means possible.

I've never said I believe them. They probably are holding stuff back, but I can see their logic behind slowing things up for high use customers. As an average level user ( which is what I consider myself ) it means the majority of customers get a fair deal. You can't please everyone ! That's life !

"98% of our members recommend us to family and frienRAB"

Thats well over 2,400 people they've sufficiently pissed off then. Obviously more than that as I'm sure they'd only survey customers that have been with them for ages.

I'm still getting 6 a week Bri. 3 day turnover, between me sending them back and receiving my next 3 tbh.

You can't just tell everyone else that they are having poor service, if they're not.

Although, I will say that their customer service is right up there with 3's.

lovefilm's computer system has been down for most of today - I suspect no disks have been sent out and there will be a lot of subscribers without movies this weekend.

I am suffering this sloooow and annoying service as well :(

Incidentally, when you get a wrong title, complain, and are told "we have arranged for another copy of the requested title to be sent to you as soon as possible" - does it happen as they say?

I never had a single problem. Always use the free trials and get the newest releases.

I usually for example,

Post on a monday
Lovefilm get it Tuesday morning
My next rental is usually sent out Tuesday and arrives Wednesday or Thursday morning. I don't see a problem with this.

Froze my account for 2 weeks after not having had a film for the previous 2 weeks, which I put down to the merger with ScreenSelect, and also maybe due to the low availabilty of new releases.

Wrong!

It's now the Wednesday after the May Bank Holiday, so all postal issues should have been resolved, and a total of 4 weeks without a DVD ( 2 of which by my self imposed exile ), 20 films in my queue so no issue there in my book, and guess what.

Right!

No fllms sent today either. I would have thought that whatever queueing algorithm they'r using would have been dying to send me a DVD.

Bah!

Definatley switching to another company when my current subscription runs out. Thinking of trying My Movie Stream which seems to have attracted many disgruntled ex-LoveFilm members.

Anf feedback welcome.

aaahhhh so he claims but who really knows, 2/3 people!!! was just going with my personal opinion, working in cs i know quite a lot of people who also work in the same area i don't know anyone who would do it but there you go!

When they mess up and send you the wrong title, it means they will send it to you again but at your expense. i.e. on both the occassions they gave me the wrong film they insisted I returned the incorrect one and they put the correct one back on my queue.

lol, quite excellent work :D

have used lovefilm on a couple of occassions, when i come back from working abroad usually i get the 3 disc unlimited plan and use it for a couple of months to catch up on all the years releases ive missed + some oldies i never got round to seeing

the only way to get good value out of this option is being very organised...i aim to pay a net 50p per rental including use of the free trial

when the discs arrive ill watch as much as i can and have them popped back into the letterbox by 5pm for collection (helps very much here to be unemployed) :D

unfortunately sundays, mail strikes and the fact that my post doesnt come till around 2pm hinders the effectiveness of my operation

also i've noticed turnaround of my discs has slowed by the odd day or two since the end of my free trial when it was pretty instant. not worked out whether they send them out quickly on free trial to impress you or the fact theyve probably noticed how many discs ive got through with them and attempted to close the floodgates a bit :)

2 other things;

- that period of december between christmas day and new years day nothing happened with my rentals at all, not even the page with next dispatches was updated...did anyone else experience this

i understand things might slow down at this time of year but if theyre not going to even attempt to deliver something should be mentioned...a free but mandatory holiday period for the account? because i was not receiving a large part of the lovefilm service for that week....

- i set my '2 week holiday' to start on jan 23rd...however having returned 2 discs on the 19th they immediately put my account on holiday on the 20th  only reason i can think of was that was my subscription renewal date...for which ive been debited the full price.

well those are my experiences on lovefilm service...in summary it seems the more you play them the more they play you! :)

Don't be so condescending pal, I get titles form the top of my list nearly everytime, and the only title i've had to wait more than a week for is The Motorcycle Diaries. On almost every occassion (and I mean there have been literally one or two occassions where this was not the case) I sent them back, they are shown back on the site the day after, and i've received the films the day after that.

I've had good service. Not my fault, or problem that others haven't.

E-mail the CEO of Lovefilm to complain: Lovefilm CEO

Also check out Blockbuster online DVD rental service as a few of us here migrated to BB and have been impressed, Last few days, BB have sent me everything on the top 10 of my list !!.
