LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

My point is no-one would bother getting someone they know to ring up someone they had dealt with that day. A job is a job then you go home and forget about it not make life worse for yourself!!!

I have been with Lovefilm for about a year, service was damn near perfect until about 6 weeks ago, since then I have had the same problem as everyone else.

My advice is cancel, within a few days, they will offer you 3 months for the price of 1.

Also, I recently joined http://mailboxmovies.dvRAB365.com/ and they provide a great service

Sent back two discs to Lovefilm on Monday, acknowledged as being received on Tuesday morning. Since then, nothing. No replies to e-mails, no apology for delay, no offer of a refund for time I'm effectively not being able to make use of their service. ScreenSelect isn't much better - routinely have to wait more than a day, sometimes two, for replacements to be sent out. Am fast coming to the conclusion that online DVD renting is one enormous rip-off. At least with your local rental store you know what you are getting. Perhaps it's time somebody like Watchdog took a look at this whole area and exposed the essential shoddiness of the 'service' these people offer.

Wel they're all the "same" company really, in the sense that they all use the one supplier, that firm in Peterborough. I understand Tesco rentals are "powered" by lovefilm, whatever that means.
Nevertheless, there was a massive difference when I switched to Tesco - faster and much better with the priorities like I say.

What's that?

Approx.:

3 in the post being sent to you
3 being watched &
3 in the post being sent back.

That'd be approx, 66 rentals a month. Bet they'd soon be throttling that service too.

"Do you know that's 60p per rental. I'd say that was exceptional service" :D

 Yes, that's right, I'm the CEO of Lovefilm blah blah blah. Change the record.

That you makes you a coward, and inaccurate, as they are not 'down' in the first place, so well done for that post!

They tricked you? What did you think you were signing?

Accept it, EXACTLY what you all want is not available in the current marketplace.

If any of you have got such great business plans for runnning the perfect DVD rental service, put your money where your whiney little mouth is and do it!

I wish all the success in the world, and look forward to enjoying your first rate and flawless service!

I don't think they have taken on more than they can chew, they are intentionally slowing down the DVRAB dispatched.

When I joined they made sure I got six in the first week. Once they have your money they tend to downgrade their service.

Yes but what you deem as a good service isn't necessarily what many of us would deem as a good service.

i.e. if don't mind receiving old titles from the bottom of your list and about 3 rentals per week then yes you probably are enjoying their service.

Haven't seen Man on Fire yet I'll add that onto my blockbuster queue to increase the chances of getting it, also need to transfer Blade Trinity into my BB queue as Lovefilm clearly don't believe in shipping that to me.

Instead of a 3 for 1 deal they've come up with a 3 for 1.5 deal.

Now if they could guarentee that I'd get 6 dvRAB a week I'd happily sign up for the full package. They wouldn't have to bribe me.

I've now been in possession (for 2 days) of 3 DVRAB since the 22nd May. & 7 in the last 3 weeks. They're sending out (alledgedly) 3 more today.

So, "I_LOVE_LOVEFILM", I don't believe you're getting 5 a week. However, if you are, perhaps you can see why I'm pissed off?

Still, if it makes you happy to take the mic, carry on. Whatever floats your boat.

I sent LF my fair share of emails when I was a member and it's really good to see them finally tell the truth, but did I miss something? When did LF admit to throttling? I've tried to keep up with the thread and just given it a re-read and all I can see is an admission that they are unable to handle the current workload and when problems develop they despatch to low users first. Incompetent and unprofessional, but hardly deliberate throttling of the service. Of course they have lied before so who knows what they are actually up to.

Hey Dmuk,

Screen Select is rubbish as they rarely send you dvd's from the top of the list, also they tend to wait a day or two before sending you a new batch.

I am with blockbuster at the moment and really cant fault them, I am on the 5 disc package and depending how quickly you can watch the films, you can get 15 new titles a week, that's over 60 a month.......with love film, I was lucky if I got 2 titles a week.

Also blockbuster sent out new releases on the day of their release, which is something other companies fail to do......if any of you want to sign up, PM me with your e-mail address and I will refer you and we each can profit :-)

Here is my total turnaround comparison so far between LF and BB

------------------------------------

LF Joined 22/3/05

Total DVD rentals received 29 :o

-------------------------------------

BB Joined 28/4/05

Total DVD rentals received 22

I have been with Lovefilm for over a month extra and as you can see from the results they have only managed to give me 7 extra DVRAB compared to Blockbuster.

Blockbuster have the added advantage of giving many 2 disc sets as one choice and they operate on a Saturday.

They do the exact same thing to me. How can you assign a DVD to someone and then spend over 12 hours processing it? Looks like throttling to me, only they call it 'processing'.
