Tried to cancel my account this morning. Phoned them up, spent 15 minutes on hold before the foreign call centre answered. The woman then said that their systems were down and they could not process my cancellation and told me to phone back. Funny that, I was logged into their website at the time.
I told her I wasn't prepared to phone the 0870 number again and told her to write down my cancellation request manually. She proceeded to do so though told me I had to send back the DVD I don't even have yet by tommorrow otherwise I would be charged another month's rental. Total con !! I had the suspicion they were going to charge me another month so called up my bank to see what I could do. Had to cancel my bank card to stop them getting next months payment! Bit drastic I know though I hate being treated like a fool by these companies so they won't be getting anymore money from me. Wheras if it had been a Direct Debit I could have cancelled it with no fuss.
The thing that riles me, is the way they make you call the 0870 number to cancel. Every other thing can be done by the website. But when they said their system were down I thought I could smell the rat. Also I've now kind of adopted a "Boycott all companies that oRABhore their customer services" attitude.
Also their T&C's state the only way to cancel is via your account on the website. Not true !! The only way they let you cancel is by phoning them on the 0870 number. It even says that cancellations by letter are not guarenteed.
Avoid this company is my suggestion.
