LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

I'm still with them because you can't cancel mid month - well you can but you dont get your part month payment back! and because the service I have received isnt dire (yet). It's still better than all the other trials I've done and I've tried all the main ones - blockbuster, global e-rental, dvd365 etc.

The only one closest to lovefilm was global e-rental but they had this annoying policy of sending out your next film the day after receiving one back.

I might be trying global again for a month though as I moved to lovefilm as they appeared to be better than global but now turnaround has slowed and the fact that global are cheaper...

I signed up for this..... the first month the turn around was great 6 films a week now in the free months and im lucky if i get 3 a week and there usually from the bottom of the queue... will be cancelling....

What do you mean Tesco proved faster... If you look at the Tesco Terms and Conditions you will see that its LOVEFILM. I have been with Lovefilm for 3 years and only had a couple of problems with them and they were sorted out very quick.

It would be interesting to see if what their performance levels are like on this free 30 day offer.

Just make sure there is no stupid clause that limits you to 10 discs in the 30 days.

I've been on holiday for a week and so suspended my account for 10 days.

As soon as I unfroze it, they're sending out 3 disks! If I return all 3 and and they despatch 3 more I may well freeze the account again for 10 days. :D

Will also get my brother-in-law to sign up for a free trial and we can alternate freezing accounts.

I'm determined to take the B@st@rRAB for all I can. :p

I'm having problems with Lovefilm too. I can send a dvd back on a monday, they'll recieve it tuesday but not send anything out until either Thursday or Friday!!

I actually emailed them about it and they said something along the lines of "People who rent less are given priority posting..."

So basically, the more money you give them each month the worse the service you recieve...

I'm thinking of switching to Tesco, are they any good?

HI Woodpecker,

I sent you a PM with the name of the CEO, which I got off Google, though I think Jaime has the e-mail address, ask him or get him to post it on here.

On the contrary ScreenSelect have been very good to me the last 6 weeks.

Mon: Sent back 3 films
Tue: They check them in and dispatch the next 3
Wed: 3 films arrived today - Layer Cake, Dodgeball and I Robot

This happened last week too
I have been with them for about a year now. 3 months or so ago they were delaying by a day or 2, but never as bad as the experiences posted here with LoveFilm.

I guess I'm not so lucky at times.

I have 3 stand-alone DVD players, one portable DVD, 2 DVD's in my desktop and one in my laptop (all different makes). If I have a problem in one I will try in another until all are exhausted.

Quite often I receive discs that are absolutely filthy. Their cleaning/checking process seems to be non-existent. I don't think it's entirely fair to expect customers to clean the discs on their behalf.

But that doesn't excuse massive scratches or chunks missing from discs, you'd think that they'd check the quality of each disc before dispatch. Or maybe not. What's the best way to make money? Send out inferior products, receive complaints and still charge for that!

Something I will say is that all the discs I received from Blockbuster were very clean and every disc I have rented from my local video store has also been clean. Why can't LF follow suit?

youve probably been a bit unlucky with your DVRAB and your dvd player probably isnt that good.
i have recieved some scratched discs that do not work on my cheapo DVD player, but theyll work fine on a more expensive one

I've had two days of "You are renting no DVRAB". This morning it has gone to one being sent out today. What about another two?

It can't be that my queue is too small, as it currently has 42 items in it. I've sent a mail to LF, and will now await my cut-and-paste reply.

As long as free trial members you can access their Lovefilm account with their agreement and make sure the DVRAB are returned at the same post box at the same time as yours you can easily visit the accounts each morning and afternoon and then all becomes clear, that Lovefilm and trading in a deceitful manner .

Been with Screen Select for about six months on their one disc at a time scheme. I've had two discs that would not play but have since gotten replacements for them, fair enough, and I've had two discs that have gotten "lost in the post". However once I have started the process of informing them that I have sent a disc back, they then make you wait until about a week has passed before you have to report it lost again, then they are supposed to sent you out a form to prove that you posted it, how you are supposed to prove this I don't know. Now as I have said I have done this twice, (not including the one I sent back on Tuesday that so far has not arrived back.) I have never recieved these forms and a few days later I get an email to say "Good news the disc that you reported lost has turned up." By this time almost a week and a half has passed before I get another disc. How stupid do they think their customers are. I know what they are doing. At the moment I am renting what amounts to four discs, if i'm lucky, a month for a tenner even though the scheme is supposed to be Unlimited. That word is the most overused one in the english language, used by isp's and rental companies all over Britain to falsely advertise what amounts to be a scam!

I've been experiencing the same slow down in the turnaround of films - strangely I always receive the DVD's the next day while when I post the DVD's it always take 2 days for them to receive it - spooky huh?

And when I do select discs they are generally from posistion 40 onwarRAB on my queue! I have also experienced a couple times situations where they have literally been out of stock of discs and after not dispatching me any discs even though I had none showing as rented and 100 in my queue. Upon emailling them they appologies and say they receive "new stock daily".

They're sevice has definitely gone down over the past few months!
