LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Used to get the same problem myself. So I started keeping a database of the films I received making note of the Date Sent, Date Received, Date Posted Back to LF and Date Received Back at LF.

Often there was three days between the Date Received Back and another disc being dispatched, more often two days, but on a few occassions 5 days!!

I used this as a basis of one of many complaints as it proves a point. And then I got kicked out!!

I still keep my database up-to-date (yes, I admit it's a bit sad) now I'm with ScreenSelect as it's a good way of monitoring performance. 90% of the time a disc is sent out the same day it's received back.

One cannot complain too much about that.

And should I ever experience problems with them in the magnitude of those with LF, I'll have my proof.

Trying to save money on return postage smells of desperation to me.

When will these dvd rental companies realise that all most customers want is a reasonable turnover and a few top title dvRAB now and again for a reasonable price. I would happily sign up for a year if these two conditions could be guaranteed in writing. In my opinion trials and gimmicks are a waste of time because they don't reflect the normal service.
As a customer (now ex customer) giving 3 months for the price of 1, charging

Although not conclusive, there is some interesting observations to be made here, last week I send a DVD back to LoveFilm, which took them 5 days to receive, meanwhile on Monday I sent a CD to a friend in LeeRAB which arrived the next day, at the same time my friend in LeeRAB sent his DVD back to Lovefilm, which arrived back to them the next day.

Now this is obviosuly not scientific, but it is interesting that there are obviously no hold-ups in general with post leaving my area (as the letter to LeeRAB arrived next day) and apparantly no delays with LoveFilm (as my frienRAB arrived back the next day).

Seen as my friend has only just joined, while as a student I have been quite a heavy user, this would all seem to tie into the theory that there is some type of throttaling occuring!

I didn't actually mention the "throttling" 'cause I have no real proof that this is what they're doing. I did however mention that I signed up to Blockbuster on a free trial and in the same period of time I haven't had any delayed discs and that "Perhaps you should look into this as it sounRAB
like there is a little prejudice going on in the countries' sorting offices". Meanwhile, my discs sent back on Friday are still "being rented" according to LOVEFiLM.

After denying this for months, LoveFilm CEO has finally admitted (see above) that they DO put the slowdown on customers, and then lie to them and say they don't!

That's why I have ALREADY cancelled my subscription, and note it here so others can avoid struggling with their lies.

6 months ago, Lovefilm were great for me, titles being dispatched the day after I'd posted them (like Blockbuster are doing with me at the moment, the way it should be), but the last few months they have been getting worse and worse. I've had I, Robot and Ali G Disc 2 in my number 1 and 2 slots for a long time now, and still not sent them out. The turnaround has been getting slower and slower and if this 3 day wait becomes a regular thing, I'm cancelling my subscription.

The CEO has a life, the 400+ word essay he wrote is evidence enough that he has more important things to do than b!tch and moan about Lovefilm.

I have cancelled too, but theres nothing wrong with kicking them while they're down.

Here's my top turnaround list for online rental companies:

1. MovieStream - 6 a week
2. Screenselect - 5 a week
3. Blockbusters - 4 a week

Worst turnaround
1. Lovefilm - 2 a week

Another disallustioned LF member here - loved the service when we first signed up in about Jan. We've had a severe deteriation in service in the last few weeks - first, we were getting films that were in position 25 or later in our queue and now, films seem to be taking 'longer' to get back to them. Plus, if we send 3 back at once, they always receive 1 one day and then 2 the next. This has happened on the last four occaisions.

It's sending from the bottom of the list that's really p*ssing me off at the moment - I've had 24hour Party People at number three for TWO MONTHS now - c'mon, there can't be that many people out there wanting this surely. What's the point of having the option to prioritise if they take NO notice. To try and get around this we've cut our 60+ list down to 10, but they are still sending from the bottom of the list.

Glad I found this thread - it seems to me they are throttling. And the end of the day it does make good business sense BUT they should let their customers know that unlimited does not mean unlimited.

Think we're going to give them another couple of weeks and then try out Blockbuster.

Jaime Mate, your wasting your efforts e-mailing the muppets at Customer service, get on to the CEO of lovefilm and send him mails, he cant ignore you forever !!

I'm just expecting that TS will make LF drop the "Unlimited" line.

TO be honest, I don't really care about a refund. the 3 for 1 deal was a good one. I'll get close to 40 rentals for

After RM delivered my last batch damaged and without envelopes, after contacting Lovefilm about it, they've sent my next three films out early and three extra envelopes for me to send the others back.

I'm still happy. :D

Yes that is correct but how they draw you into the subscription is the contention I have and this was proven to be unfair so Evan though you have agreed to the policy you expect them to maintain the delivery expectations.

I've never had a bad disc with either LoveFilm or ScreenSelect (or Blockbuster or Apollo shop rentals). Perhaps it's your disc player?

Next bad disc you get, try it on a neighbours player...

According to their terms and conditions it looks like they can pretty much do what they want. Especially the one that enables them to cancel the subscription of any subscriber at any time.

Abraham did you still have to pay a full months subscription even though they suspended you?

blockbuster's online DVD Rental service is very good, very fast turnaround, I post a DVD back, get's there next day and they have another one sent out to me by the end of the day.............Screen Select I would avoid, for the simple reason they too operate throttling policies like LoveFilm and use stalling tactics to slow down their turn around.

We should send them an email informing them that due to their technical problems which are resulting in us receiving hardly any dvRAB we are going to have chargeback some of the money they have taken from us.

It is only fair that their problems should be reflected in our fees.
