LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Switched to blockbuster earlier this week and put my LF account on hold for 90 days. I am glad to report that royal mail seem to deliver and pickup fine at the blockbuster office

Are LF still doing the 3 4 1 offer if you cancel? If the offer is still available then I may still give them a go, even if they are 3 times slower than normal i should still get a month out of them. They do seem to have a better selection of more obscure films (and I still feel guilty about cancelling immediatly after winning the Hitchhickers competition.)

I have left LoveFilm and have no intention of going back but if as a service provider you limit what is supposed to be an unlimited service then you are at the very least dishonest. End of story, fat lady sings etc. Anybody know where this 'all you can eat restaurant' is I'm starving. :D

What i find particularly funny is this send 2 discs back in the same enevelope farce.

Shortly after i joined i fedback to them that they should send both discs when a title has say a bonus disc, like BB do. They replied by saying they dont do that as that would cost more postage. Funny that eh!

Jess you should try blockbuster, best service I have experienced so far !!!.

Before anyone mentions it "I am not the CEO of blockbuster" :-)

I agree. I changed to Amazon after getting annoyed with LoveFilm and to date the service has been 1st class. Always get the movies off the top of my list and always within 48hrs of my sending back the last ones. You also get automatic discounts applied to any DVRAB you buy off their site.

What kind of a person uses a company he dislikes for 4 months and then decides to go to county court to get a refund?

The total cost of taking such a claim to county court would be much higher than 4 months worth of rentals plus Lovefilm's terms and conditions cover them so you would'nt have a leg to stand on.

After emailing LoveFilm again to tell them how useless the service is, and to inform them how much of a joke the new 8discs at a time offer was, along with giving the link for this thread, i got the following responses:

The four titled mentioned had been sent to me on 4 seperate days, after having waited ages, and at the time they sent me that email, i'd already sent them back the day before, which shows just how messed up their system is.

I'd come to the end of that month anyway, and was planning to cancel, glad to be rid of them. I'm now with Screenselect and Mailbox. Very happy with them. :D

I was with them for about a year previoulsy circa 2004, it went fine until the last 3 months, late arrivals/shipped discs at diffferent times/wrong discs etc. I cancelled, move forward to 2006 and the 3 months for the price of 1 "we really want you back" offer, I went for it, has been fine up until this week, Tues 3 discs back, as off today still awaiting allocation, no reply to email, login messages of unprecedented response to their new site..lol and problems getting through to hotmail/aol. Reading this thread it seems I am not alone.

edit

Would you believe it, allocation has just taken place, I would really like to know what the problem was

I wouldn't recommend doing what Fadger says in keeping rentals. They will still contiune to bill you if you cancel your debit card with them and keep the final rentals. If they cannot charge you they will invoice you.

You will receive a letter from a debt collection agency once the final bill hits

I haven't received a reply to my email but as I have got nowhere near as many films as dfgh, I doubt Mark Livingstone will have much to say to me.

I received 16 movies last month. I consider 26 to be a fair amount so they were 10 short in my estimation.

Donelson, if you arent getting much help from the muppets at Love Film Customer Service, do e-mail the CEO of Lovefilm as most of us have done:

LoveFilm CEO

and the chairman of LoveFilm and CEO of Lovefilm's Parent Company: Arts Aliannce:

Thomas

Registered at Blockbuster, 1 free month, put my entire list from LoveFilm over.

First three sent already, Ray, Sideways and Creep, my first three, because i'd been waiting for them on LF.

Good impression so far.

from my experiences with TS, there usual approach is to find a way to resolve the dispute with the trader rather than a heavy handed approach.

I expect they would contact Lovefilm and the end result would be that LF would offer some kind of refund to make the problem go away.

I'm on a website full of people who hate a service I'm enjoying, so why wouldn't I take the mic a bit?

Why does it bother you so much exactly?

hi i've just joined to lovefilm today on the 1 month free trial i was reading this thread and i came across some people quoting a 0845 number to cancel but when i clicked on cancel my subcription it quoted me a 0800 number im just wondering if ive missed naything here do i just call them up after returing all my dvRAB and cancel on the 0800 number
thanks.

You know on blockbuster what if u get a tv serious with like 6 discs is that just your normal allowance or does that also count as one choice?

I cancelled my lovefilm based on the drop in service, I assume due to 'throttling', but if not, it's just a poor service.

What do people recommend, blockbuster's or screenselect?

I think I'm drawn towarRAB blockbuster's as they operate on saturdays, and I'm not too bothered about not getting films from the top of my list.
