im buying two 12" subz and an amp separetly. on the description it tels me this.. i dont know which to compare the amp to??? and what is it talking about "watts each sub"
Peak: 1200 watts total (600 watts each sub)
RMS: 600 watts total (300 watts each sub

The more watts that the amp gives to your subs, the louder each sub will beat. So if you wants your 12's to beat very loud, then you deffinitely want to buy the Peak: 1200 watts. But if you are not looking for it to beat too loud, then go with the other.

compare the RMS to Amp and always
keep in mind the independence in Ohms
for example an amp that drive 300watts at 4ohms
can only drive 150watts on 8ohms speaker

It means that when purchasing an amplifier, you'll need to buy 2 300 Watt RMS mono block amps or 1 2-Channel 600 Watt RMS amplifier to power those particular woofers.

Don't worry about Peak power, focus on the RMS ratings.
