List of common courtesy rules.?

Title says it all. I just got out of a lecture with my parents who keep saying I need to utilize this stupid list of common courtesy/sense rules, such as saying hello to an adult (even though neither of us has business with the other) or dressing to impress.

I don't plan to take and use these (invisible) rules, I'm just curious as to what they are and what they entail.

You can start by taking the trouble to check out the right section for posting your question, rather than tossing it out randomly like a 2-yr old. Then you can phrase it in a non-insulting way, that doesn't make an eventual responder 'damned if they do and damned if they don't' answer you.

When the 'rules' are followed with sincerity, the respect they convey becomes visible, or rather palpable - i.e. others can feel it, and the respecter feels good about themself, too.
