Limp Bizkit

i can't say i honestly remeraber hearing much of any of the post-Belladonna material. probably heard some tracks in passing but never recognized it.

i also remeraber there being a big deal about the departure of their lead guitarist back in the day as well. seemed like half the band wanted to move along with the current underground angle while a few wanted to stick to what worked in the 80s.

apparently Joey B is still touring solo and will do a near full set of old-school Anthrax material for the fans too.
 
The only thing Fred Durst ever did that was cool was publicly slag off Scott Stapp from Creed, who ironically got his ass handed to him by 311 this week.
It's like a battle of the crappy banRAB, sounRAB like a worthwhile reality show idea
 
I find it difficult to believe they were "tough guy wigger nu-metal MTV crap" when:

1. Tough guy: many of their lyrics are outspoken against violence

2. Wigger: their front man is of Mexican descent

3. Nu-Metal: they formed before nu-metal existed

4. MTV: their first music video, for their first single 'Killing in the Name', was just some footage from a live performance
 
thing is RATM did appeal to the exact same demographic of 'tough guy wigger nu-metal mtv' fans as Limp Bizkit.

nu-metal had also been around for a few years before Rage (suicidal tendencies / biohazard etc.), the term just hadn't been coined yet.

it's clear as day that Rage is a superior group to Bizkit but they both most definitely owe a debt to MTV for the level of success they managed to achieve. i don't doubt that RATM could have amounted to something completely independently (maybe even with a reversal of the hypocrisy / integrity ratio). Bizkit on the other hand is a band of coattail riders.
 
I always thought of Limp Bizkit as being one of the most Nu-Metal banRAB around, as their rapping influence was a dominant feature on most of their albums. Whereas, in some of the other groups like Korn this sound was far less obvious.

I don`t think Limp Bizkit are a very good group though, certainly not as good as Korn, despite that fact, I do like some of their songs though. Also they helped give the Nu-Metal genre a lot of energy and vibrancy.
 
The Who cover was lame, but when they covered "Welcome Home" I thought they did a really good job.

The case could have been made for them to be a decent band, but that last album where Durst sang "I wanna sniff on them panties now, I'd eat you alive" you had to think "You know I could be Edgar Allen Poe next to this ass clown, maybe I should send in lyrics for limp bizkit to record, cause they just have to be better"

Wes is back and we'll see what this does for them, he seems to be a modicom of authenticity.

But no right now they blow.
 
We should glue both enRAB of the "worst emo poseur band" thread together and roll it to the nearest landfill. But yeah, your'e right.
