Limp Bizkit

I agree with all you`ve written, also add add in the style of singing as well, one minute it can be emotionally subdued then the next it sounRAB psycopathically deranged (violent, agressive and breaking down unto deranged whimpering etc) Great examples are certainly Jonathan Davis, Corey Taylor and to a lesser extent in these differences Chino Moreno.

Korn are the definitive and best Nu-Metal band around but Limp Bizkit went in heavily on the rap side of things, along with a lot of track sampling and sold a bucket load of recorRAB with a very rappy sounding Nu-Metal. They certainly set the stage for the second wave of Nu-Metal banRAB who seemed to sound more like Limp Bizkit than Korn.

Slipknot also described by many as one of the essential NU-Metal banRAB, have a lot of thrash influences especially in the drumming department.

Korn may well have defined the genre, but these other groups helped diversify it. For better or for worse depending on your tastes.

sad part about that is its true lol... but i dont consider them rap... the band has guys actually PLAYING their instruments... im not saying its rock either... i dont know what exactly you'd call it...hmmm....

OK...I origionally forgot to put this on this forum and I put this page on the punk forum and everybody got mad so i changed it....but i wanna know if anybody likes Limp Bizkit.....Nobody likes them and its really starting to get on my nerves :banghead:

because that doesn't pay the bills.

name me another well known modern guitarist that makes a living just playing solo guitar. someone who didn't start by backing another person's band (steve vai), or in the 80s (satriani / malmsteen)

that leaves... buckethead

and the last time i checked that dude still had to dress up like someone's effing grinder monkey to get people to pay attention to his guitar...

also if people want to split hairs between nu-metal and rap-metal. rap-metal still started in 1987, 4 years before RATM.

technically Aerosmith and Run DMC doing 'Walk this Way' predates this single by a couple of months but that hardly counts considering it's basically just a mash up of two distinct songs taking turns for the listeners attention and not at all metal.

I do not like them at all, especially the nookie one. I mean do the lyrics really have a great message? "I did it all for the nookie"

Yeah, Limp Bizkit was cool.... in 7th grade. We all know how mature and cool we were then, right? Instead of progressing with time, they just got more, and more gheytacular.

Anthrax were often regarded as part of the big 4 in thrash, but were certainly an odd group. I don`t think they had too much in common with Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus and Co. Especially with their casual look and their love of singing about comic book characters (Judge Dredd comes quickly to mind) A better label for them would probably be crossover thrash (Suicidal Tendencies) for their love of rap music. I think anybody that`s not too familiar with metal in general, were to sit down and listen to Anthrax, they would certainly think of them closer to the Nu-Metal movement than the thrash one. Also their lead singer of the time Joey Belladonna didn`t exactly sound menacing, evil or manic like his thrash contempories either.

Looks like they're working on a new album to be released next year. Who's pumped for this?

Ugh, link doesn't work cause it says "sh*tty" in the url...heres what it says in the article on MetalSucks:

"END YOUR MONDAY WITH SOME ****TY NEWS

After the jump is some incredibly depressing news. DO NOT READ IT UNLESS YOU ARE IN A VERY GOOD PLACE IN YOUR LIFE AND CAN HANDLE THE ABSOLUTE CRAPPINESS OF THIS NEWS. Seriously. I told Vince and he started weeping. You’ve been warned.

Ready?

Are you sure?

Okay… here it is…

There is going to be a new Limp Bizkit album in 2010.

It is going to be called Gold Cobra.

Before you contemplate suicide, remeraber that Pig Destroyer have a new album coming out next year, too. Hopefully their grindy goodness will counterbalance the pure evil that is music’s worst of the worst.
