Let's End It! - InuYasha The Final Act Anticipation & Speculation thread

To be fair, I think that much of the material in the last 21 volumes of the manga was stupid fluff that padded out things while Takahashi figured out how she was going to end the story. There were a nuraber of arcs that contributed nothing to the main story, and could be removed without any problems.

If I remeraber correctly, one of the reasons the Inuyasha anime was cancelled in the first place was because viewers tuned out as years past without any major developments. I'm guessing this time around the production staff is going to avoid that trap by cutting things down to the most important material. It also gives them the chance to blow it all out on the animation budget for the final battles, which are of course the ones that matter the most here.

Series would have been better if Naraku were a better villain, so much of the series was "Kick Naraku's ass, he runs away, we try to find him, thn kick his ass again" in a repeating fashion, the dude is an indestructible punching bag who took up all of the plot and the attention of every character who matters (why!!??).

A limited run is a good choice. If the folks at Sunrise know what they're doing they'll adapt the essentials while dropping all the repetitious/superfluous stuff like Tetsusaiga upgrades. I don't understand why some fans are bothered; a 26 episode season for a dead franchise is still rather generous IMO. As long as Final Act avoiRAB some of the pitfalls that FMA Brotherhood fell into, it should work out fine as an adaptation.

Also, it'll be interesting to see how the anime's ending compares to the video game cut scene concerning Naraku's death. If Inuyasha is ever adapted into a single standalone film (not likely), that would be my choice for the ending.

Official Viz subbed trailer is up up UP!

(And my god, way to freakin' spoil important stuff Japan. Why don't you just show the ending of the series while you're at it?)

YAY! Do As Infinity!

And wow, they're going all the way this time just like Full Metal Alchemist.

Yeah, that trailer seems pretty epic.
And on my comment about ANN and Episode length; sometimes that isn't always accurate and users can edit a show page...
But WOOT!

Wait..26? We all have different opinions on it but I would of liked to see the last 21 volumes in longer length. But I guess the fans that want to see it end would be mad at me eh? =p
