As all of us who have finished code geass knows of this controvertial character many claim him to be a hero while others just think he imposed and selfishly manipulated people so his will would be absolute, now try giving a logical answer..... i mean it! not just ( Lelouch is a hero/villain and thats all)

My Opininon

I am a hardcore lelouch supporter and fan since unlike most series when the hero is all mighty and correct and never fails to save all his/her comrades and loved ones in his/her strugle to save the earth or watever it is here they show us someone who is vulnerable and actually face reality excluding all the geass and those stuff obviously, he suffers makes mistake lose many loved ones and have his dark and weak sides exposed even thought he always try to remain composed in front of his followers, he burdens himself with hatred from others even thought he doesnt deserve that and endures it like a man, this guys for me itz what a true here is like no like those i will never kill anyone and yet save everyone in my path.

I apologise for any grammar mistakes in that text its not my mother language so im not perfect at it.

I also believe that Lelouch is a hero. He sacrificed everything in order to try to make the world a better place for everyone. Manipulative he may have been, but it was necessary. He goes far beyond what an ordinary person would do and for that Lelouch deserves all the respect we can give him.

i support lelouch

he is a hero

what he did was made it seem like he was a villian and made himself become a syrabol of hatred THAT in itself to make that big of a sacrifice neeRAB to be respected

yep...so true...he made himself very evil when he was the king to show how cruel brittannia was....he's really smart but a bit cold ...

He was cold towarRAB some people in order to protect them like when he made shirley forget everything and look just how it turned out in the end, he wasnt perfect and made mistakes as well.

WTF are you doing posting that picture of Shirley? I bawled so bad during that episode. Sheesh.

Anyways, I've always thought, that even in Death Note and such, that if Light didn't start getting all power hungry and being corrupt by killing innocent people, that he could've made that perfect world. Eh. Power is corrupt.

I have to admit, I'm a Lulu supporter. As in any revolution, there are sacrifices. Yeah, sometimes Lelouch may have went about it the wrong way, still. The whole way he went about everything was just outrageously clever. You have to be a supported.

Really though, I'm not trying to condone all the killings that took place...>.>

I see him as an in-between, much like Kalas (Baten Kaitos). He used messed up means to get what he wanted...so I honestly believe he wouldn't fit either of those roles.

Lelouch can only be discribed as a hero...all he wanted was for japan to be free like it should be when he went to battles he always had his comrades well being in mind and he never attacked the innocent so regardless of anyother oppinion lelouch is a hero and end of discussion

Lelouch is the highest of heroes IMO. His attitude is stereotypical 'anti-hero,' but in the end he is just a cold calculating hero. The only reason he appears villain-like is because he uses any means to achieve his goals. I mean, think about it. If all his plans worked out flawlessly, and everything went as he planned (which would make for very little storyline) then he would be hailed as a saint. He would have never had to resort to some of the things he did which called his character into question.

In the end, he turned all the evils of the world on himself and destroyed them with himself. Hardly room for debate whether or not this act was not completely selfless.

I think the point of Lelouche's character is to blur the lines between the cliche hero and villain. Because no one can be all hero or all villain, really.

exactly that why im so atracted to this character he is so unque unlike our common anime heroes that things anyone should die yet they always solve every dam problems this guy kills anyone who interfere even if it hurts him.

Think about in the revolution i bet american thought they were the good guys because they wanted to be free yet they killed everyone who opossed rite?

Yeah, he's a hero. All I wanted to say are already stated in this thread lol.
But I'll write it up anyway =)

He can accomplish really big things, but in order to do that, he need sacrifices. It's like give and take. Just like war, you can't win a war if you don't kill, since you will be killed if you don't, and that's not good, right?

There's two things like the most about him, the first part is that he's not perfect, his plans can fail. We human aren't perfect right?
The other part is, he's sooo smart :O

Well, at the end, he absorbed the evil to himself, and used himself as a sacrfice to clean the world from evil. So, he didn't even hesistate to die. If you take others life, you should be ready to give up your own, that's what I think.

The last thing, he's so strong, he had a big burden, everyone hated him. But he still stood straight out until the end. He didn't do this for himself, he did it for the world.. and Nunnaly. Though, he could be cold at times. But that shows that he's got two sides, the gentle side, which is quite hard to see, and the cold side, which is easy to see.

BTW, shouldn't this be in the frontier section?

though I only saw bits and pieces of the show (this includes the ending) I have to say from a psychological perspective Lelouch is one of the most interesting heroes I have seen. I mean the guy (I assume anyone who reaRAB this has finished so DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T) kills himself in the name of his ideals. I mean his methoRAB are arguable having that much control over others has certain aspects that can be abused. His approach is very Machiavellian only worrying about the results, which could but him into a more anti-hero position. Personally I think his honorable intentions, and his self sacrifice at the end make him a hero. But then again he does kill a lot of people with the whole episode were he sets off an avalanche and then later when he blows of that ship full of JLF soldiers to name a few extreme cases...

Its tough to say, but I will pick I side I guess...

he's a hero in my book

I'd say he was a hero as well.
Kind of like what was already said, and after watching the last episode of r2, it just backed it all up for me.

he gave his own life for not just his sister, but everybody else. he died in the 'new world', basically his plan succeed without him to enjoy it. i hope that made sense.
of course he was a bastard at times, but to me thats just showing hes human, he has a dark side, a weak side, etc etc.
instead of repeating everything that was just said i'll stop here.

overall conclusion : i think hes a hero.

Yeah I couldn't imagine anyone liking Lelouch that is a pacifist his methoRAB are a little intense, I certainly don't like violence a lot but I understand the unfortunate reality that is the human condition, sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
