Well, the other thread was closed, so I couldn't reply to it. The rep I spoke with on the phone said they no longer carried LeafsTVHD. The channel no longer shows up in my guide. It is also no longer included on the official channel listing by BEV.

^replace the * with bell dot ca.

Did anyone watch last nights game on LeafsTVHD? I watched the game on my small 27" TV in SD specifically because I was told BEV doesn't carry the channel and it doesn't show up in my guide any more.

I would like to know for sure what is going on here, because I really don't feel like calling into BEV and waste another 30 minutes on the phone talking to people who know 10% as much about their product as I do.

From what I could read on the leafs' website, only the regular season games (20) will be broadcasted in HD. It then goes on to say that the eight preseason games will be broadcasted on LeafsTV (no mention of HD). So we'll just have to wait and see until October...

the problem is, when i called BEV, they said they no longer carry LeafsTVHD, and it also is no longer listed in their channel line up (used to be 848, and the link for their channel line up is posted above).

there is a game on right now...it is on LeafsTV SD, but LeafsTVHD still doesn't show up on the guide...when i type in channel 848, it takes me to 849.

I wouldn't worry about it until the season starts. There is no point phoning Bell because the CSR's don't always know what is going on. They are probably moving channels around to accomodate RDS HD. They can still carry LeafsTVHD on a temporary channel for the 20 regular season games.

So if it becomes a TEMPORARY channel and not a full time one like previously, than how does Bev count the numbers of HD channels they offer?

There is MAJOR discussion right now on this issue when comparing DirectTV and Dishnetworks HD lineup.

In some circles, regional content and PPV aren't included.

It was always a temporary channel. When the Leafs weren't playing it would just be blank.

Its part of NHL centre Ice. channel 866-869 now.

Nem, who talked to a friend at BEV

Because it's now part of NCI I believe.

Nem, who thinks he would like to watch the Leafs win in HD, but not lose in HD

it doesn't make sense to throw it into NHLCI...i pay to get LeafsTV...i used to get the HD channel for free (included with HD and the purchase of LeafsTV)...there is no way i am going to shell out $180 to watch 20 HD hockey games...why not switch everything to Rogers and get it for free, like i USED to get???...yet another example of a stupid decision made by a company that has no clue how to operate a business...it is honestly surprising they are still in business.

You guys are wasting your time looking for HD feeds of pre-season. They don't show HD pre-season games so this is a non-issue at this point.

Thats why I'm asking if other providers are still offering it. It may not be only bell. Call some of your buddies that are with cable or *c and see if they get the channel when you think there should an hd game on.

And when they are playing you would just hear snoring....... :)

RELAX - JUST KIDDING!

i will wait a bit until the regular season starts...that said, when i called BEV, the rep (after spending 20 minutes with them, for what should have been a 1 minute conversation) mentioned they no longer carry the LeafsTVHD channel.

during the "ad" for tonights game, it listed it would be on channel 848 on BEV (LeafsTVHD), but it isn't...i am not happy they dropped LeafsTVHD.

i wonder if they dropped it due to lack of interest. After all it is the Leafs channel. ;) Just messing with ya.

Not that I am a Leaf$ fan (I just like HD hockey :)) but I saw on the game that they referenced ch 848 as well. I think they will still show this HD channel once the regular season starts.

i realized you were kidding...in reality, while LeafsTV isn't available in a large geographical area, there are a TON of people who will want to see those games...not only are there a lot of Leafs fans out there, but LeafsTV has 20 regular season games this year (compared to 8 last year)...that's one quarter of the season, ONLY on LeafsTV...last year, EVERY LeafsTV game was also on LeafsTVHD which was great...i was really looking forward to seeing a large majority of my games this year in HD on that channel...TSN is decent with their HD offering, and of CBC will have every saturday night in HD.

Did any other sat co's or cable co's have the game on LeafsHD? I'm thinking not.
Like posted already, I don't expect to see it untill the season starts.
