Mininova has had to comply with a legal ruling from the Court of Utrecht in the NetherlanRAB,
which means only torrents of authorised content are allowed to uploaded to their servers.
Mininova never actually ran any trackers, they only indexed torrents from other trackers.
I'm currently downloading the 10th Nov edition of the Late Show (main guest Jack Hanna)
from the BAJSKORV link on Latebyte. The Pirate Bay's (now obsolete) tracker URL comes
up in the list of trackers in uTorrent, which is partly the reason why it's currently only
slouching down the line (at this end) at about 20-30Kbps, sometime slower.
The Pirate Bay have recently ditched their tracker servers in favour of Magnet links that
utilise DHT and Peer Exchange technologies, that most private torrent trackers forbid.
They say it's more decentralized to prevent service interruption from legal threats.
Demonoid is still down, since their servers had some kind of data loss problem several
weeks ago, so I personally can't see them coming back online anytime soon, if at all.
Most of the other torrent sites out there are either private ones that require members
to keep a good uploading ratio, or crap ones full of duff torrent links leading nowhere!
In essence, we seriously need to get Dave back on TV, so we don't have to go through
this rigmarole of downloading via torrents, falling several weeks behind, then trying
to catch up by watching several shows in one go whenever we can find the time!
