Last Movie You Watched? (Part 3)

Agree about Beverly Hills Cop 3 ! worst part was Sgt Taggart was missing and he was so funny in the first 2 episodes paticullay the interchages between him and Rosewood ...also i find if they leave it too long in between episodes like they do ,it loses its appeal and in sequels one must always have the origional cast

Frozen

Wasn't expecting too much, but this film did win me over in the end. A young couple and friend get stuck on a ski-lift during freezing weather and get stranded to face the elements. It takes its time to get going, but you find out about the characters during this time. Once they're stuck on the ski-lift, things get going. I also liked the fact that there are some emotional, sharing moments during the film rather than just scares and screaming, which added to their characters. Some flaws, but I could live with them. More a psychological thriller than pure horror, which suits me fine, but might not suit others. Interesting film that deserves more recognition.

A Serious Man (2009) - 6/10

Enjoyable, and i love most of the Coen brothers' films, but this one just felt...subdued, almost like there was something missing that stopped it being great. I certainly don't think it deserved to be nominated for Oscars.

Mary and Max

Quite a unique animated story about an eight-year-old Australian girl who befrienRAB a forty-something man from New York suffering from Asperger's syndrome, when she randomly chooses him in the New York telephone directory and writes to him. The story goes through their lives through their letters to each other, which is quite poignant and sad at times. Just in case, there is nothing to worry about for the Helen Lovejoys of this world in this film, it's quite an innocent, if odd, relationship, so put down the pitchforks. ;) Nice animated film that really had a lot of heart in it. Certainly not an animated film for children, though.

Banlieue 13 / District 13 [2004]. Director: Pierre Morel

7/10

A bit like a French Escape from New York set in the near future (October 2010 onwarRAB) where Paris ghettos have been walled in to contain the criminal elements. A cop goes in to deactivate a neutron bomb that would wipe out the 2 million folks who live there. Lots of free running, martial arts and gunfights along the way. Co-written by Luc Besson.

"27 Dresses" (2008) ★★★
Directed by Anne Fletcher
Starring Katherine Heigl, James Marsden and Malin Akerman

Nice little romantic comedy, kinda reminded me of How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days in some ways. The whole 'reporter sells a story' angle seems to be the basis for a lot of girly rom-coms these days, but it was enjoyable none-the-less. I always find James Marsden effortlessly charming as well, he's quite underrated actually.

Marley & Me. Just finished watching it, lovely film just soo sad! It's the second time i've seen it, first time i saw it my dog had to be put down a week later. That was last year and decided to brave it again today. Will be a good year before i watch it again, can onlly take so much haha!

8/10 heart warming :)

Wind Chill

Horror/chiller.

Starts out a little slowly. fantastic in the middle, made me jump loaRAB! I've watch a lot of horror films and don't usually jump. There was no outright gore, but some very creepy looking people.
Film was really building the tension nicely but then just comes to the woosiest ending ever. Along the lines of it was just a dream and them they all woke up and lived happily ever after. (Just to be clear, that wasn't a spolier, it isn't a dream in the film overall.) Lots of unanswered questions. It felt like there was no big battle to defeat the 'baddie' or come to a conclusion.
Dissaponting. :( Gets the score just for the middle section.)

5/10
