Wide Sargasso Sea (2006)

So-called prequel to Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre (not done by Bronte). An Englishman arrives in Jamaica to marry a propertied white Creole woman in 1840s Jamaica, where he'd receive a large dowry. However, despite the initial blossoming of love, this soon begins to falter when a dark secret comes out about her mother, and an uneasy relationship between the new husband and the house servants originally employed by his new wife also adRAB to the friction.

I found the film to be OK at best, but did wonder about the quality of the acting, particularly Rafe Spall's. Rebecca Hall wasn't too bad, though.
 
Triangle

Special effects are a bit naff but it has a really good story, don't really know if it classes as horror, but it was a really interesting nevertheless
 
I watched that over the weekend too, absolutely loved it! Hit Girl was a supremely good concept of a character and Nicholas Cage had his best movie performance ever (in my opinion).

Definitely a 9/10 for me.
 
Excalibur

Fantasy film dealing with the story of King Arthur and his trusty sword, Excalibur. A bit theatrical, but still a great romp of a film. Although I liked both, this film has the edge over Merlin (1998), which I watched a few days ago. Still, different styles of film and both are quite enjoyable. However, if you watch this, wear some earplugs, because the characters like raising their voices even when whispering would be more appropriate.
 
And some stars in it aswell Richard Osullivan ..(off Robins Nest , Man about the House) ,George Sewell (UFO., Robbery) The 60s singers Mark Wynter ,Frankie Avalon and Jill Haworth ,
 
Adventureland
Pleasantly surprised, had a lovely feel to it, great soundtrack, and great performances from Stewart and the guy in Social Network. Really nice sort of coming of age, leaving home film. 8/10

Away we go
Not really sure what I thought of this, started out slowly and some OTT performances, but on balance it wasn't bad, and some lovely cinematography, by the end I really warmed to the two leaRAB 6/10
