Last Chance To Buy Incandescent Bulbs

If you go down to Home Despot you'll find a number of options. There
are CFs that have the candelabra base and are flame shaped and put out
about the same as a 40 watt for about 6 bucks a pop. There are LEDs
that put out about as much light as a dead firefly for 15 bucks a pop.
There are 40w Phillips Halogenas in a two-pack for 6 bucks that are
brighter than the regular 40s and work on a dimmer. Then there are the
75 watt Philips halogens for about 8 bucks a pop that put out about the
same light output as a conventional 100 watt.

Personally when I can't get the 60s that I'm using now I'll probably go
for the 40 halogens.

Personally I think this ban on regular incandescents crap is wrong-
headed and mainly a windfall for the light bulb industry, but we're
stuck with it until somebody gets around to watering the tree and there
_are_ options so I guess we have to make the best of it.

Commerce clause. If you want to start up a light bulb factory that
does't buy any raw materials from outside your state and doesn't sell
light bulbs outside your state, then you can make and sell any kind of
light bulb that your state allows you to make. But since most light
bulbs today are made in China, the Commerce Clause kicks in and the Feds
can regulate them any way they please.

In my house, some incandescents are on 16 hours a day so using a CFL saves
energy. The oven light is on a couple of hours a week at best so I doubt
they will ever change them out. Same with fridge lights.

Even better... There was a vast array of LED bulbs in Japan. I'd
like to see even a fraction of them offered here.

Only colored incandescent light bulbs can be sold, but they'll be sold
with a pre-treated sponge that will wipe off the coloration to make a
clear or white frosted bulb.

choose to interpret it as encouraging the development (growing the tree)
of alternatives to the current crop of left and right wing extremists
that are together destroying the country with their petty fighting. A
new crop of centrist candidates who would completely ignore the petty
winger issues and instead focus on fixing the country would be very
welcome.
