Last Chance To Buy Incandescent Bulbs

These are regular 60 watt bulbs in soft pink. I believe the paint is on the
inside. I will try to stock up. I was going to order some online.
Daughter managed to break my freezer thermometer tonight. But the price
they wanted was too high. I can get them at Bartells around the corner from
here. I know the price there is too high as well, but it will save me from
having to go to Lowes. I hate buying lightbulbs there. I swear each time
they move the aisle to a different location. And there are so many bulbs it
takes me about a half an hour to find the pink ones! If they have them...

Bullshit is right! I checked the law. They have to give you a two
minute warning before the SWAT team comes in, destroys your house, rapes
your wife and kills your first born son. I don't have a cite, though,
but my memory is really good. Trust me on this.

I hope that's stated clearly on the package because I'm not going to
remember this. Is that one hour of steady burn time or is it like
breaking in a car where the numbers add up?

Sure, because CFLs don't work in those applications. It will probably
be a very long time before there's a good replacement for
incandescents in ovens.

I have gone to CFLs when I can. Mostly I do not like their light. It's
just too harsh! I have a three way (it was hard to find) in one lamp with
an off white shade. I find I need to keep it on low or I can't stand it.
The other lamp that contains them has a lead glass shade in mostly darker
colors. So it's okay. The only parts that bother me are the few pieces of
clear glass on it.

My parents however... They have some of those pole lamp thingies with the
multiple tulip shaped shades on them. The shades are sort of a sheer white
and the bulbs protrude from them. They are bright light people. I am not.
I hate it when they turn those things on. They just blind me!

In fact where I am sitting it is fairly dark. Just the light of the
computer and the TV. The lamps are across the room and my dining room light
is dimmed and quite a few feet to the other side of me. I can see. But if
I need to see details other than on my computer, I can not. I got a cheap
little battery operated gooseneck LED light that I keep on my computer desk
in case I need it. And on my keyboard pullout is a small flashlight. That
is needed for when I drop things under the desk which I always seem to do.

This thread had me looking at light bulb ads yesterday. CFL comes in
a standard light bulb shape now. I think their looks were a primary
reason why people like me didn't want to buy them. Thank goodness we
don't have to look at that screwy shape anymore. I have no idea what
kind of light it throws, but maybe the outer shell will have options
like pink for more natural looking room light.
