Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

Loved it!!!

Confused though. Does Dorcas really think something was missing in her rel with Sir Tim or is she convincing herself????

Personally I think convincing herself.....otherwise bring back Mr Delafield!

Yes, I agree with you that poor Dorcas was trying to convince herself that she wasn't waiting for Timothy. She looked almost defiant when she said, "She wasn't waiting for him." (Oh, yes she was!!) And, yes, everyone probably did know that the tapestry story was a parallel of their lives.
I think it's in episode 10 where Timothy slips up and calls Robert "Mr. Lane." That was VERY interesting! Dorcas had just confessed to Timothy that it was her father that had convinced her Timothy couldn't marry a girl from the post office. Timothy was furious with Mr. Lane--obviously still thinking about the situation when he was speaking to Robert, who was also judging him by his position rather than who he really was. So sad!

Somebody's been busy. Thanks for the additions!!:D The Wedding was fantastic, I could just picture it. Brings a lump to the throat, I was nearly filling up myself.

I have read them all and agree with TT about Still glides the stream which I think was actually published after her death.
This was definitely my favourite.
I missed so much first time round, I think I read them far too quickly in my anxiety to devour them. I am taking my time and I'm really amazed at what I missed.
Anyone streetviewed the post office at Hook yet ( the one which featured in the TV programme when it was for sale)?

Kysrsten I am obsessed with sunsets and night skies too ( and Northern Lights (A.B) That was my original name on RAB years ago. I am now getting the hang of it and will put some of my pics up.:)

I believe, as mentioned in the beginning narrative, that the theme of the evenming was "Faith".

Roberts faith in his skills as a stonemason (last week he was agreeing that he should have his own workshop in town but this week he had a mason's block...as it were :D).

After being questioned by the reporter Dorcas lost faith in herself, she began to doubt that she does know what is best for everyone and that her advice always makes things all right.

Twister had faith that food would be delivered unto him like mana from heaven, and lo so it was via Margaret.

The bleeding tree set faith in the Lord against faith in pagan ritual, with Dorcas telling him that both could live side by side (although last week Margaret was engaged in a little naked pagan ritual of her own that didn't upset Thomas quite as much).

It's your hmm-ing that really impresses me;) I tried it after the last episode, couldn't do it - I sounded like a cat that had lost it's voice. Very sad, I shall never be Doracs without the hmm.

**my my we are all an angry bunch..... you're all getting far too stressed waiting for Sunday night **

Right there with you SS (standing behind you of course ;))

K - As far as I can remember, most people were peed off with how episode 9 ended and I think people have a right to be dubious of people claming to be someone they may not be.... just look at other threaRAB on RAB...... bunch of nutters :D I'm really geese woman :D

I bet Julia is kicking herself that she stopped posting before you joined ;)

If Julia decides to post again, she knows she is always welcome on here.

TT - calm down woman you'll give yourself a hernia :p

Thomas has to be the most irritating character in LRTC if not any drama. Most of the time he appears to be on the edge of a nervous breakdown and his opinions get really annoying.

I was surprised at the end when he was amused at the Bishop's non-appearance due to illness. I'd have expected him to get even more frustrated and angry.

Minnie can be likened to Alice from The Vicar Of Dibley.

You know, I can actually prove that Lark Rise is the best show on television. You see, my mother hates most all television. Rarely is anything on that she will watch. And I've never known her to watch anything twice. I brought over series one of Lark Rise to my mom and begged her to give it a try. I just couldn't see how she could not like it--and I was right! To say she loved it is an understatement! I couldn't get series two to her fast enough. I created a monster. When she finished those she watched them again. And again. And again. Just recently she was in the hospital very sick with pneumonia. While visiting her I surprised her with the new series 3 episodes to have when she got home. That really lit her eyes up! (She's home and doing fine now.) Yes, folks, I have made my mother an addict. She is demanding I bring her her fix of episode 7 tomorrow. I have also made my older brother a LRTC addict--he runs around saying, "It is my one weakness!" which always cracks me up. So that, folks, is how I know Lark Rise to Candleford is the best show on television. :)

An ok episode not my favourite of the series this year -- I couldn't get too interested in the main plot or care much about the mystery of Peg Leg.

Some nice moments with Minnie and Thoma though -- I hope her 'sisterance' pays off!

Next week looks great!

Thanks for the info! Yeah, it's really weird how they manipulate the ages to suit their neeRAB. Here, at 18 you can make your own medical decision, go to war, yet you aren't allowed to drink until you're 21. Go figure.
