Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

I'm still reading.. I have to say that I think all your points are valid, apart from the strange Judi Dench comments:confused:
I did feel though, that for Dorcas to have another love interest in this series would have been too much. I felt she needed time to recover, she is after all a Victorian woman, and I didn't feel it would be appropriate for her to fall in love with the next stranger passing through town. I'm not sure that she 'sticks' her nose into people's business, she was curious about Reppington because his isolation reminded her of her father, and she certainly isn't a gossip, she always tries to find the truth in a situation and help people to sort out their troubles, that is her nature, if she didn't she would literally spend each episode, stuck in the post office licking stamps!:)
 
Ok. I wore my hair down in golden Lion scene because the clock had struck 12 and I thought it would not have been possible to put it up. I don't like wearing my hair down as I think I look ridiculous, also Victorian women preferred wearing their hair up as it was so difficult to look after. We all have hair pieces, not wigs. As for frizz-ease, cut me some slack here ladies and allow for a little artistic licence,:) it's unbearable enough not being able to wear lashings of mascara, must I also have frizzy hair!!!
Yes, I wore the same earrings that I wore all the way through series 2. I have a pair of gold hearts with pearls on, and a pair of silver bows ( I think these may be the culprits in question) Hope that has cleared things up a little.:)
 
A bit off topic, but I finally got to see Julia's WDYTYA episode last night. What a fascinating show! Her paternal grandmother was such an incredible woman. When you think of what she accomplished in her life under such difficult conditions it is absolutely astounding. What courage and strength she must have had within her. A truly great lady. Is is most apt that our Julia was named for her! :)
I have a degree in anthropology so I'm always fascinated with finding out where we come from. I want to participate in the human genome project to find out even earlier ancestry. It's neat to see WDYTYA is now being done on American TV as well.
 
You know something, I have this strange inkling that Daniel will be the character who takes Laura away from Candleford (at the end of series 4 obviously)............I think they will go off to writing pastures new together:D
 
Oh, I LOVE British humour! It's most like my own. Most Americans are idiots so it doesn't surprise me that they don't "get" it. (I know, not very loyal of me, but, sadly, it's true.) I think I was British in another life--the very first time I landed at Heathrow I felt like I had come home. I loved Black Adder, Absolutely Fabulous, The Kumars at No. 42, Graham Norton, The Office, Little Britain, etc.
Now, of the shows you've listed above I have seen:

Robin Hood (LOVED IT!!! Is it wrong that I was rooting for Marian to choose Guy??? )
Little Dorrit (love Matthew MacFadyen--have you seen Perfect Strangers? )
Bleak House (very proud of Gillian Anderson in this role)
Some seasons of Spooks (still working on them--great show and am so happy to see Richard Armitage in it!)

I have not seen Doctor Who yet but it's a show I've certainly heard of and have been meaning to get into.
I was once at a convention around 1984 or so where Jon Pertwee was one of the guests. I kept running into him in the hallway. I wish now I had asked for his autograph! He seemed like an affable fellow.
 
last night for the first time in lark rise history dorcas had her hair down
ever last series when she was practically on her death bed her hair was still pulled back in a braid
even emma is now having her hair down sometimes

Julia Sawhala? is going to b on loose women on friday i think, maybe we will get an extended trailer or clip.

I enjoyed last nights episode, I like the way that they are not very straightforward and open to different interpretation.
Very sad not to see Nan back, I guess that this is to clear the way for the romance between Minnie and Alf which is sure to be popular with us all.
Rebecca Knight who starred in Fanny Hill played Nan Carter
and I can't find anything to suggest that she appears again in LR
 
Yes, I noticed that there will possibly only be 6 episodes. For LRTC will that be enough time to develop a good storyline? However, it is all rumours and I would prefere 6 episodes than none! :)

Mrs D I love You,:p I wish I could speak three languages...........'I can say 'hello' in 30 languages but I love you in only one' as The Beautiful South' sing, and that's true......I can say a few worRAB in many tongues but am not fluent in any really:( a very British dilemma methinks.

Anyway back to business..........this weeks RT just out.......no mention of Nan this week, but then no mention of Alf either:eek:
 
I do actually generally agree with this.....I think it's a nice programme and I am just winding myself up with all this looking for an arc etc...The baby Arless doesn't bother me as I don't think there is a strict timeline, on the other hand they shouldn't make mistakes such as Dibber or Nan just disappearing.


but all in all I'm going to stop analysing and start enjoying:)
 
There is 2 questions I want to know.....

..... why has Dorcas stopped saying "its my one weaknesss" and

what happened to the guy (large/burly and dark haired with a moustache) who worked in the forge, I only mention that as the forge was mentioned briefly on Sunday?
 
Jon Pertwee was sensational as Worzel Gummidge but he was my least favourite Doctor! I loved Robin Hood. I am annoyed at the fact that it was contemporary or modernised. They shouldn't have let the writers kill off Robin which led to its demise. That and keep shifting it around in the schedules to a different time each week!

Bleak House and Little Dorrit were mesmerising. The attention to detail was mindblowing. I loved both shows.

Back to Doctor Who though! The small budgets that British TV is accustomed to means that there are obvious restrictions on what they can achieve especially compared to what American shows are capable of. But, the special effects in the modern Doctor Who are absolutely brilliant!

If you get the chance to watch Doctor Who from 2007 onwarRAB you will hopefully find it an enjoyable, escapist piece of entertainment. As long as you don't constantly wonder why or how the TARDIS 9his spaceship) is bigger on the inside!

Anyway, have a nice day Sherry. Only half an hour to the last episode of Lark Rise. what shall we do then?
 
I thoroughly enjoyed tonights episode.. Slightly unusual in that it focused on Candleford, but yet again Dorcas was divine! i thought it hilarious when she confiscated the conkers from Thomas and Daniel!

Beautifully filmed yet again especially the walk along the road at the end. One of my favourite episodes this series.
