Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

I don't love Julia (no offence angelheart!) but I do really like Dorcas. I like the fact that she is strong and independent and had the strength to turn JD away for breaking her trust. Maybe she saw it as a sign of things to come. I like that she is happy to stay single even when she 'should' be married.

Yes she can be a busy body but she always does it with the best of intentions and IS usually right!
 
I'd like to wish our very own angelheart the happiest of birthdays tomorrow! ( I'm sure she's deep into filming our favorite show right now, but hopefully she'll have a little time to celebrate.) Many happy returns, Julia! :)

I agree, tons going on under the surface. JS does a great job conveying Dorcas's feelings with minimal worRAB! I think her comment about the woman not waiting for her man is maybe her trying to convince herself that her life doesn't parallel the woman's.
Sadly it does to a small degree and the sad look on her face is, "that's me...and everyone knows it." Up to that point I really think Dorcas felt that what she and Timothy were doing was harmless....they're just frienRAB who happened to be in a relationship years ago.

I had forgotten about the other story going on of Alf and Phillips' rivalry, Edmund getting hurt following Alf while out poaching and Robert losing his job covering for Edmund and Alf. Was it this episode or 10 that Robert goes to Sir Timothy to ask for a letter of reference and while writing it mistakenly calls Robert Mr. Lane. Very interesting!!
 
i am waiting for the dithering BBC to officially announce a fourth series! They only ever keep harking on about that John Barrowman thing that no one watched but won't announce a fourth series!

Angelheart, I agree.Walking off into the sunset would be a bad idea. I wouldn't want Dorcas to be married, and actually she already has her happy ending. She loves her life as postmistress and Sidney provides her with a wonderful purpose. I would like to see in series 4 a business rival for Dorcas. A female who is a matriarch who maybe buys the hotel and tries to poach Dorcas' staff! A bit of a cow! Someone who Dorcas could retaliate against in her usual dignified manner! Of course Dorcas would have to win the day! But definetely no love interest. Unless she gets off with Twister!
 
The current series is 1896 and I believe series one was 1894 which makes sense if they atre doing 1 year per series. Could we possibly get another 5 series out of the show so we can see their reactions at the death of Queen Victoria in 1901?
 
Why can't Sir Timothy actually come back?!! All this talk of him is reminding me of the good old days of series 1, I wanted them to get together so badly. I think you are all quite big LRTC fans on here, so I hope you don't mind me saying that I thought series 1 with Sir Timothy was far better than the series we have had since.
 
To be honest though most people (6 million) seem to be enjoying it. It's us regulars that are the most critical.

I think it's just a show that shouldn't be analysed so much - and just enjoyed
 
"Insufferable" Dorcas Lane?? How dare she say that! :mad: Send Alison Graham over to me--I'll give her a good ol' fashioned American slap upside the head. ;) Either these editors and critics only half pay attention while watching the show or they are willfully misunderstanding the characters. Either way I don't like them.
