Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

Sidney not as cute as the old one. But you are right he does look like his Dad.

Robert still as scrummy as ever.
such a joy to have it back.

I did too I thought that was the whole point of the storyline. IIRC we even saw a very pleased with herself Mrs Brown either the "morning after" or at the start of the next episode. It would spoil the shows innocence were they to make it any clearer.

Thanks for the information about Victoria Hamilton being pregnant. Good luck to her and hope all goes well. If the show gets renewed we'll hopefully see her next winter.

:)

Is it hot in CA at Christmas? Last Christmas in England we had our first white Christmas for 29 years! But even so, it's usually dull and cold at Christmas here so feels Christmassey! I guess that's just what you get used to. I too wish I had the chance to experience a real Victorian Christmas but alas, watching things LRTC is the best we'll get!

Aw! I love how this board has gotten all cuddly and sweet again! Well done you dear people! ;)

No problem K, I'll do that right now:D:p.congratulations

Good news............something to watch now LRTC is finishing. The new series of Wallander (Swedish version), is starting on Saturday on BBC3 or 4 can't remember.:D:D

Dorcas could set fire to the post office, get the insurance and go abroad:D:D

See K I've had one in your honour already:D:D

Ooh talking to myself again:D:p

While I am a Timothy/Dorcas fan, don't get me wrong--I don't think Timothy is a complete angel
in all this. I don't approve of anyone cheating on their spouses, but there are different degrees of it.
The worst is the guy who cheats on his wife with some young hottie who turns his head or flirts with
him at the office or bar or whatever. That is a pig. While I don't excuse Timothy for his behavior towarRAB
Adelaide, the fact is he was in love with Dorcas all his life and that never wavered. He loved her way
before he met Adelaide. Dorcas turned him down and his mistake was in marrying someone else knowing
he was still in love with someone else. It was a terrible mistake for everyone. Dorcas wasn't innocent
either. She encouraged him by agreeing to go to events with him, riding with him, greeting him at the post
office, etc., knowing he was a married man. Adelaide was a bit of a victim--and I say "bit" because she
really made very little effort to be agreeable and less tiresome than she was. They were terribly mismatched.
She should have married a fellow snob who stuck his nose up at everyone like she did. Even if Dorcas
weren't in the picture I don't think Timothy and Adelaide would have been truly happy together.

I agree. I reckon loaRAB of people enjoyed julia's performance in JC. With Caroline's character, it felt like watching Dorothy from Men Behaving Badly! I did like Caroline as well and still do. I preferred Carla in Creek to Maddie. Sheridan Smith was good in 2008's Xmas special though!

Now for a radical idea. Why don't we start a petition for there to be another Lark Rise to Candleford Christmas Special either in 2010 or 2011. The last one was so christmassey and another one would be just magical!

I fear I agree with you guys about the nail in the coffin for the lovely JD - I'm gutted! :( Who else is she going to have a psychological tussle with in Candelford. I too was puzzled when Dorcus told Lady A that Timothy wasn't the right one for her. HinRABight is a beautiful and convenient thing...
The most important question at the moment however is ...is there a Season 4? There's only one person on this forum who could give us an answer and she's vanished. Where is the lovely Angelheart hiding? Has she abandoned us do you think? I really hope not.

I've thought about getting a multi-region DVD player, but that's all I've done is think about it. Guess I just imagined them to be expensive. I'll put my Googling skills to use and go see what's out there. It'll have to be one that upscales so that the picture quality on my HDTV isn't awful!

Hi there,
I stumbled on this forum when trying to find out whether there would be a Series 4 of LTRC. And I am glad I did as have been thoroughly entertained by all your posts, so thank you very much. I always thought I was quite the fan of the show until I read about Dibbergate and realised how unobservant I was :)

My boyf brought me the box set of Series 1 & 2 just before the start of the World Cup (coincidence, i think not!) but turned out to be a shrewd move as I have got totally hooked for the second time round! This is a great series, pure escapism that transports you to another time, I absolutely love it!

I must admit I would love for Sir T to come back and whisk Dorcas off her feet and for them to live happily ever (fingers crossed). Not sure that JD is right for Dorcas, I mean he didn't even come back to visit his son at all in Series 3! Her romances do seem to be the most endearing thing about the series, to me anyhow!

Larkriser I have read you story and think it's brilliant - maybe the writers for Series 4 can have a break and use your work instead, although some of the more racey scenes may have to be cut out - it's family viewing after all :)

Am really looking forward to Series 4 but am disappointed to read it will only be 6 episodes. Shame on you Beeb!

Thanks again for the entertaining thread!
