Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

Oh dear me, I did find the premise of this week's show quite dubious. I'm pretty sure that neither Emma nor Margaret would have been chosen for a permanent position because they're both married women and that was a big no-no for women teachers until long after the time of this program.

I don't think either Robert or Thomas would have been happy with their wives working. Also, how could Emma possibly have managed it? If she had that much free time why did she need Laura's help when Robert was bedridden?

I was amused by the 'old-fashioned' handwriting - it looked just like the way I was taught - and I may be old but not anything like old enough for this era.

It also made me laugh when Emma shouted "Sit down!" at the school children and Margaret hurriedly obeyed her.

So that's what Brendan Coyle's been doing. Popping up in another costume drama - Downton Abbey!! Wonder if this was why he was absent from a few of the last episodes of LR2C?

It was a beautiful, beautiful episode!! What a lovely way to end this series. I agree, Kyrsten--I LOVED that sly, "Aha! I've got you now!" look Dorcas got when she reread her declaration. I laughed out loud and clapped as I knew right then she had beaten that awful man. I pity the fool who goes up against Dorcas Lane!!
I also laughed out loud when Dorcas said, in a quick, modest fashion, that the Southern District Postmaster General "has rather a soft spot for me." :D Julia, if I may say so again, they could not have chosen a better person to play Dorcas. You are fantastic! It always breaks my heart to see Dorcas hurting and sad.

And way to go, Daniel, for rallying the troops on behalf of the post office! I loved Queenie's passion, too, for saving the post office, and how both Lark Rise and Candleford came together as one.
And, yay! Ruby is sure to be coming home now! And I'm so happy Thomas and Margaret got to keep their little Amelia Cordelia! :D

Thank you cast and crew for another wonderful season of Lark Rise to Candleford. Thank you for putting in all those long hours, for shivering in the cold, and for so obviously putting your hearts and souls into your work just so we could have 12 more hours of perfect escapism into a wonderful world. I love you all! Bravo!! :)

i can't believe LRTC has only been renewed for 6 episodes!! madness... it's one of the few original and genuinely good shows that the BBC has left. no offence but why do they keep stringing out shows like New Tricks, Holby City and boring shows like that and sacrificing something as popular as Lark Rise... sad news. :(

You write code?? You go girl!! I'm a computer geek, but I'm on the hardware side. Software, programming and code make my head hurt!! LOL :p

She'd have to dispatch Lady Adelaide first :( I like to think that her fainting this season was not the result of pregnancy, as was heavily hinted, but something rather more life threatening. I know, I'm a big meanie, but I hate to think of Sir Tim longing for Candleford and Miss Lane :o

I love Edmund too, he seems to have grown up so much since the first series. I think it would be nice to see a bit more of his character next series although, if there's only going to be six more episodes, it would be wiser to wrap up old storylines rather than start new ones.

Yayyy

im expecting Bs

i get two weeks off until my summer course start
look at whos being an overachiever :D:D

Thought I'd try and watch this weekend for definite (everytime I've tried this week, something's cropped up), but I know a lot of you will probably be holidaying with family, so I'll go with the flow. I can easily join in if somebody puts a review on.

Well i'm a sad man tonight ..i have just finished watching the second episode and after last weeks opening ep i was hoping that this one would redeem some of the magic..but alas i fear that this series is not going to have the said magic of the last 2 series.

I feel like im letting the show down by not enjoying it this time round..:(

I did try.

I dont know what hello or losse women are ( i am asuming tv shows)
however someone better be putting them online for me to watch

for we all are aware of my love for julia :D:D:D

I enjoyed last night's episode. I found Ruby Pratt leaving to find love very moving, it also brought it home to me how isolated people were in their communities. Nowadays there are cars and plenty of public transport, would not be such a dramatic step. Well played though.

I quite enjoyed the reclusive pianist bit. I didn't think it inappropriate for Dorcas to not mention JD.

What I am wondering about is Alf's siblings. At the end of the series before last (I think), his mother had a baby. What has happened to that baby, she would not have grown up enough to be one of the two little girls who play his sister, nor small enough to play the current baby.

It is a pleasant series but there is only so much the writers can get out of it so it might be best to finish after this one.
