Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

dorcas's father and emma's father were brothers

his name was edmund lane so i font understand how emma timmin was once a dibber

they writers had done this before
saying in one episode that dorcas cannot remember her mother because she passed away when dorcas was a baby
and then in another episode dorcas showed laura something that she her mother used to cut up for her to sew

i dont understand how we can catch that and no on on the show could

Realistically, I know Sir. Tim is not coming back. It's just a wish on my part. But, yeah, the only way he could is if Lady A. dies or he divorces her (unlikely during that time). If he by some miracle does get written back in the show still married, it would probably be much like series 1 with them still pining for each other. I wouldn't want the series to end with Dorcas still sad. I think the whole point of bringing Sydney into the show was to give Dorcas someone to love without pairing her off with another man. I think it more realistic, based on the true love she showed for Sir. Tim in series one, that she would remain single for the rest of her life. She doesn't strike me as the type to "settle" for anyone else if she didn't love them with her whole heart, because part of her heart will always belong to Timothy. She can survive without the love of a man in her life because she is so strong and independent and now has a child to focus on. I don't think much will change for Dorcas in series 4. Probably the main focus now will be on Laura.

But what was she going to say and to whom L, she certainly wouldn't have mentioned it to a stranger. Dorcas has always kept her own counsel when it comes to her private life, only ever mentioning it once......to Emma, her closest relative. I don't think she will ever let anyone into her deepest thoughts regarding the men in her life:)

I have an awful feeling that Sydney is going to die of measles, that Dorcas won't tell his father, and that will be the end of JD.

According to the Radio Times, children succomb to measles and even Dorcas cries.

It doesn't sound good, and you are all right, there is no arc.

Thank goodness someone agrees with me about that storyline - so many people seemed to love it, I thought I was just being contrary. :D Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the plot behind it about rural poverty and the desperate times country folk went through, I just thought the chair thing was a bit daft - and it seemed to go on....and on.....and on.

I agree that the previous plot about Twister's concerns about Queenie's health also made the chair plot even dafter.

I knew Archie was domed when he mentioned he had a bet with Twister, such a shame for Alf. I was a bit surprised that only one died with such a epidemic. Wished it had been someone from the background though and not a known character.
The elder Pratt sister crumbled a bit tonight but soon got back on her high horse at the end. Perhaps next week she will crumble a bit more.

Wow, hannah! I love it! :D Love the idea of Dorcas getting to know Timothy's brother--the new squire. The brother probably doesn't care about the town or its people very much since he never had reason to be a part of it before. I picture him kind of a spoiled rogue. Dorcas finally gets tired of the town being slighted by its new squire and confronts him about it. He's been indifferent before because he's never had any reason to be otherwise, until he meets Dorcas. He's instantly taken with her spunk and flashing eyes and decides he's been missing out on what Candleford has to offer. She can't stand him but he can't stop thinking about her so he strives to be a better squire to win her over. Lots of sparring opportunities ensue--one of his favorite things is to wind her up just to see her eyes flash at him. And Dorcas can't help but begin to like him--but she's not going to give him the satisfaction of knowing it just yet!
Oh, Lord, I'm supposed to be working not fantasizing about Dorcas's love life! :D

Agree with this. Laura deserved a crack across the mouth for speaking to Dorcas as she did. She definitely takes after both of her self-righteous parents...

The Alf and Minnie storyline is cute - but she is just so not what he neeRAB....

Alright, wizzywick, shall we start our Series 1 Episode 1 Watching and Review this week and have it "due" on Sunday? I think it would be okay to continue using this thread for it, don't you? :)

Hey, did you ever see Gilmore Girls on your side of the Pond? That show was one of my all-time favorites. I think you would like it.

To my fellow Dorcas and Timothy fans, I've been spending the last week writing my own story incorporating all those tantalizing clues that Series 1 gave us about their past together. So many things were alluded to that I just had to write down my own interpretation of those clues. Now, I haven't finished writing it yet--I have 3 or 4 more scenes to write, but let me know what you think so far if you would be so kind as to read it.
I've finally figured out how to upload my story to a website that I have. When you click on the link it should ask if you want to Run or Save the file. Click Run and it should open up. If you have trouble opening the file please let me know and I can cut and paste the story instead into an email.
Hope you like it! :) ---Sherry

S1 Episode 7. - I must admit, after re-watching these few episodes in Series 1, I'd forgotten how much the story lines are so parallel with modern day goings on. Drink, it's not all it's cracked up to be. I'd also forgotten how snobbish Lady Adelaide actually was in this episode. Wasn't the tension between Dorcas and Sir Tim so, well...... Where's the fan to cool myself down.

The slightest touch, and two hearts are a fluttering. I still can't believe they never got it together. Were ever two people made for each other!!

Lady Adelaide certainly was a piece of work in this one, so vindictive and spiteful and the Pratts, on top form again. Giving the pot a little stir:D Getting it to boiling point. She's definitely and square peg in a round hole. No matter how she tries, she ain't going to fit! I loved the bit in the wooRAB after her row with Timothy where she meets up with Queenie. Good old Queenie spitting on her hanRAB to clean em' off and then offering them to Lady A. Had a good laugh at that one:):)

The final scenes though with Dorcas and Sir Tim where she says to him "do you think Adelaide perhaps has a right to feel neglected?" His answer just confirms it doesn't it girls. What more can you say. When Dorcas learns of the baby, she knew there and then, that things had changed for good.

Bring on Mr Delafield!!!

Ahh cometh the day, cometh the man SS:D..........but probably not...........he's probably changed his name to Dibber and run away with Nan:D:D

We shall 'ave to see on Tuesday when RT comes out won't we my chick.............ooohh I've come over all OxforRABhire, time for bed methinks:yawn:

Absolutely, Julia does this instinctively.

As an aside I just can't stand watching so called actors who just play themselves all the time, may be type casting I know...
