I am apallingly arachnophobic. I made it through Return of the King - twice - only courtesy of some essential pre-information about when to shut my eyes. I've never seen a frame of Shelob, hence my reasonably good sleep for the last couple of years.
Some of my arachnophobic frienRAB have not been so lucky.
Now I hear King Kong has a "spider"-pit sequence, something originally in the 1933 version but cut before release. Now, this business of the inverted commas leaRAB me to think that the "spiders" this time are actually some other grisly thing, but I don't know. I need hard facts - are the monsters in the spider-pit in Jackson's King Kong eight-legged freaks or not? And if so, when do I shut my eyes? And then open them again?
Now I'm going to think about bunnies for a while. I am a delicate soul.
