Kill Bill Vol 3- Thoughts please.

Now i have to admit, Kill Bill will be memorable for me for many reasons.

It was the first film that i demanded to see, it was an 18 cert and i was 14 at the time. I hid behind the pop corn machine while my friend blagged a ticket to get in. The reward was more than worth it and it remains to be one of my most favorite films.

Now it seems the ball is effectively rolling on a possible 3rd and to say im a huge fan of these films, i have to admit im not exactly doing cart wheels.

The Matrix is mainly to blame for this, and i suppose the Star Wars prequels have a lot to do with it also. I'm sure most of you will be silently saying "what prequels?"- Unfortunately they did happen, and they managed to take a lot of the shine off a perfect set of movies.

To me, Beatrix drove off into the sun set at the end with her daughter, her revenge was won, she defeated Bill and that is how i view it. It was an amazing conclusion and i find it hard to embrace any other possible outcome.

So how does everyone else view this? Should QT leave well alone? Or should the Bride reek havoc once again?

I was aware that a prequel may be done, but even that rumour goes back a fair few years. Can you add an up to date on this film actually being done because it is the first I have heard about it.
As yourself I am big fan of Kill Bill 1&2 and I would love to see another KB movie but hate the thought of it also, if you know what I mean?

last i heard he was going to wait 10 years, then have the little daughter of the first woman killed (the black lady, with the gun in the cereal box) seek revenge on Uma Thurman

From Wikipedia (With a reference!): 'On October 3, 2009, at the Morelia International Film Festival, Quentin Tarantino announced that Kill Bill 3 would be his eighth film, and would be released in 2014'

Personally, as much as I loved Vols 1 and 2, I wouldn't want a sequel. The Bride did what she set out to do.

3 possible storylines for it

1: her daughter gets killed causing her to go mental again

2: daughter gets kidnapped causing her to go mental

3: black girl from first movie comes back for revenge

I'm betting it'll come out around the same time as The Vega Brothers. Tarantino's a good filmmaker, but he doesn't half talk a load of old shite sometimes.

I'd expect and hope it would be a different film, if only because most of the characters that defined the first two volumes died. The Bride had a "shopping list" and part of the fun was her working through it. It wasn't just about killing Bill. If the third volume is about the child's revenge, then she would have a much shorter list.

It could be interesting to see the Bride on the receiving end. Will she be as philosophical about it as Bill and Budd? ("That woman deserves her revenge and we deserve to die.") Like Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill is partly about issues of honour among criminals.

It has the potential to be a good film, and also to be another self-indulgent mess.

I think the Bride should start a campaign to rid the world of the brain-rotting menace of soaps - starting with Kill The Bill.

Last time I heard, in a month old interview with Tarantino, he mentioned a prequel. I'll be waiting till it's officially in pre-production before any excitement springs from me, he is always on about different ideas, some never happen, some do years later.

That is one of the rudest posts I have seen in a long time.
If you find the OP boring as well as the request for discussion, just don't bother posting. It is that simple.
For you to feel the need to post what you did is indicative of your own short-comings.

8th film? I hope that means he counts the Kill Bills as a single work, because I don't want to wait that long for his next film, especially if it's a sequel/prequel I have very little interest in.

I'd had my fill after the 90-minute, snappy volume one, and would rather see Tarantino spend his creativity on something else.
