Kicker zx850.4 overheating?

i hav a kicker zx850.4 mounted on the back seat of my 99 grand am gt and after about a half hour or so of some bumpin the amp gets red hot and shuts off for a while. i dont know if maybe i should find somewhere else where a little more air is to mount it or what. if you can help please do

You can either find a place where it can breathe better and cool itself off. That or wire them to a different ohm. For example, if you have it wired to 2 ohms, try 4 ohms to take the load off the amp.
