kicker vs mtx............................................... .......?

i had the silver kicker compvr's on a kicker zx 750.1 and even with the gains all the way down my subs sounded distorted and i tried forever changing everything in my system to eliminate the sound. after finally going to a professionel and they didnt change anything i decided the subs may have been defective and i recently ordered the mtx dual jh55 12 inch sub enclosure. does any one have these and are they loud? cause i know someone with the jh44;s and they are the craziest things ever. (i will be uusing the same amp)
 
It could be that you had defective subs. What exactly did the professional tell you? Because it could have been any number of things. Did you check your polarities? What kind of enclosure are you using and what size is it? Were the subs new when you bought them? Were they rated for the amount of power that you applied to them. If they were the CVRs with the yellow on the back of them, it was way too much power. Those subs are only rated for 150 watts RMS.
 
Kicker subs always gonna sound weak when u first get them you have to "break in " the subs so you get max power out of them.. may be you didnt wait long in enough
